I didn't have the highest expectations for this campground but ended up loving it. We stayed for 3 nights in a tent and had a great time. Site 28 was perfect. It had great views of the mountains, decent distance from neighbors (though we had no neighbors for most of our stay) and was very close walking distance to two different restrooms and the shower, but without any of the light pollution from the restroom buildings. We heard coyotes at night and had deer visitors and even a bobcat come through one night. The campground holds a Night Sky talk at the amphitheater every night which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was chilly and very windy while we were there so, if tent camping, you need to make sure the tent is staked down really well. The water fountains around the campground weren't turned on while we were there but we were able to fill up our water bottles at the lodge restaurant every day, which was an easy walk from our site. Everyone we spoke to at the campgrounds was very friendly and nights were very quiet. We used a camp stove to cook our meals since there are no fires allowed and it worked out great.
