Lovely food and steak cooked perfectly. We often go here after a day out in the area as we live some thirty miles away and have never had a bad experience. The grounds and flowers are perfect on a sunny day to sit and relax with friends. Latest visit on a Sunday nearly every table was reserved but without signs on the table- had already purchased drinks and sat down for a good ten minutes with menus before being told this. Enjoyed the food and will return again.

We decided to go for Sunday lunch - what a treat. We were seated in the Bar Area, the pub was pleasantly busy.

I chose the Pan fried Goosnargh Duck Breast served with a duo of cabbage, gratin potatoes and orange sauce. My husband chose the Gammon with duck eggs and our daughter the Roast aged beef. All the meals were delicious and tasty. Our desserts were equally delicious, my husband and daughter chose the Summer Berry Eton Mess and I chose the Bramley Apple Crumble served with custard.

Outside we walked around the Lavender Field, what a spectacle in the Cheshire countryside, and full of insects. It was just beautiful and relaxing.

A wonderful traditional Sunday Lunch in a good old fashioned traditional pub with beautiful surroundings. We will return and can highly recommend for good food.

Spent my 50th at this fabulous place. Hired Lovell Suite and had marquee attached. The canapes, dressed buffet, service from staff at function and overall presentation was absolutely incredible. Glyn, the manager, was superb - communicated brilliantly and was such a professional host. Had the best time. Very highly recommended.
