“A truly peaceful location”
Reviewed 29 June 2019 for a stay in June 2019

The cottage was wonderful with the most amazing views although it was a little challenging getting there due to single track roads. Lovely pubs and cafe in Calstock which was just a short walk away. Overall a lovely relaxing holiday

“One visit is not enough”
Reviewed 7 May 2019 for a stay in April 2019

A wonderful place to be and relax. The Count House is beautifully appointed, with restrained unassuming elegance; every little detail has been thought of, down to a hot water bottle for cold-footed mortals like me... The views are wonderful, and the April weather with ever changing light meant the view was new every time you looked... Okel Tor Mine's remnants are fascinating. Calstock's "Boot", the nearest eatery 10 minutes walk away is full of character, friendliness and good food. Better even, stay 'home', enjoy a visit from Jess the happy dog, eat in the comfy Count House, and soak up the atmosphere, the view, the feeling of being far away from everything. Perfect.

Thank you so much for your 5-Bubble review! We love being able to share this wonderful part of the Tamar Valley with people who appreciate the simple beauty of nature - including Jess our black Lab! Dining at The Boot Inn and warming your toes with a hot water bottle just add to the experience!

“Wonderful pet-friendly unusual retreat”
Reviewed 16 April 2019 for a stay in March 2019

Very well maintained cottage. Owners on site very friendly and informative, but didn't bother you unless you needed assistance.
Stunning views over the River Tamar and wonderful location in the workings of an old tin mine.
Be warned the drive to the property is not so easy, but it's well worth the trek.
Pet friendly area, with local pubs accepting dogs. Wonderful walks across Dartmoor and on the border of two of the best counties in the country.
Highly recommended for a a peaceful holiday.

We agree! Devon & Cornwall are two of the best counties in England - though we think Cornwall has the edge! Thank you for your review of the Count House. We know that the last few hundred metres of track can be somewhat daunting for some but, taken with care, poses few problems. As you say, it's worth it!

“Beautiful ”
Reviewed 23 March 2019 for a stay in March 2019

Ah what a lovely week. The Count House was a gorgeous little place, ideal for the 3 of us plus dog. A real escape. Well equipped & cosy. Beautiful views, so lucky with the weather, we sat on the little deck each morning & evening listening to the birdsong... Lovely memories & hope to return. Thanks Greg & loves to Jess ♡

Well, you were certainly lucky with the weather and were able to make the most of sitting out on the decking and absorbing nature. We look forward to seeing you again. We've passed on your love to Jess - she wagged her tail!
