Considering its an Intercontinental hotel and not your holiday inn or express, it's actually quite average in terms of wow factor.

Rooms are generally decent sized, with the usual amenities. A good factor would the toiletries, while some areas such as the lack of an iron board which seems common in other hotels are actually on request and had a shortage here, also instead they have 2 hair dryers?

Toilet ventilation isn't working so ended with a misty washroom.

Close to shopping Malls such as Markis and Queens is a place, also the train station is about 10 mins away.

Generally friendly and helpful staff and nice hotel, but also unheard of is the paid gym facilities.

The pre checkin conversations via email were already very delightful, as was the whole experience throught our stay. We had to change the rooms twice, until we got everything sorted (twin bed large room, king size small room, king size large room - as originally requested). The baby crib was perfect for a two year old one (1m x 65cm) and will be easily comfortable until three years of age (our princess was 2.5 years and is 95cm tall).
We preferred the view over the city and the ferriswheel compared to a harbourview with little charm but at a higher cost.
The breakfast was of high quality, the food display fantastic. The attention of the staff sufficient, with room for improvement. i. e. asking guests proactivly what they want to drink or clearing the table regularly would be welcomed.
Overall it was a reliable perfect experience and can be fully recommended for business or a family stay in the area.

We stayed here for Kanagawa Hanabi. The location was good but the staff was awful. The bar was 90% empty 40 minutes after the fireworks finished but they wouldn't let anyone sit down for a drink. Everyone at this hotel was busy talking to each other and ignoring customers. AVOID!!!!

Spectacular view, massive room, beautiful beds, really best service ever from stepping out of the taxi at the front, to checkout and getting their bus to Narita airport (do book in advance). Their English and Korean were good, and the staff were very helpful. Intercontinental breakfast buffet is famous, and this hotel did not disappoint (I always love when mentaiko is on offer, and lots of fresh delicious fruit - omelettes on demand as well as congee with preserved duck eggs.. and of course all other japanese staples). Beautiful lobby. This is my second time in Yokohama, and I regret not staying here the first time.

Really accessible with the yokohama Sea Bass station and a great location in general for enjoying the scenary. Seriously, the view from our room was so amazing, I'll request that in advance next time.

I stayed at this hotel for 12 days on a business trip. Good location since it's a 5 minute walk to the Minatomirai station which connects you to Yokohama station and also to go South.

The service at the hotel was very good. The guest services manager, Mr. Yasuhiko Hosoi, was very helpful in resolving a parking related problem I had. The breakfast every morning has a wide choice and they make great omlettes.

On the downside, the hotel is aging and shows in the room decor, carpeting and bathrooms. It's seriously needs an upgrade and room renovations. This is the part that keeps me from giving it 5 stars.

Ask for a room facing the bay - great views of the sunrise and lights at night.
