Worst hotel of our 3 week trip in Japan. Tiny two single beds room transformed into a room for 3. No space between beds, table and chair stuck between the beds in front of the 70's "night table-console. My body felt every single springs in the mattress. Dirty carpet all over but clean and recently renovated bathroom.
And to top it all: it smelled like cigarette even if I had asked for a non-smoking room.
You can even smell the cigarette in the lobby, there is a smoking area in one corner.
The only good thing about this hotel was it's location.

We've been to Hiroshima with family and children and I admit that the hotel has a very good location. Just few steps and you are in the middle of shops, restaurants and stations. You just drop off your luggage and you can go and explore this nice city. The room is clean but Japanese size and style which means small. But okay for a weekend. The hallway smells smoke but fortunately not in the room. We did not take the breakfast there but at 1 min walk you have coffee shops. So not a big deal.

The hotel is exactly where you need it: a very short walk from the street-car stop, and right next to the main attractions like the Peace Park, and the shopping malls. The main reception is refined and promises great things within, and my friends who stayed in the western-style room had a soft, comfortable bed. I have stayed in several ryokan, and the futon in this hotel was a little harder than most - I struggled to get comfortable. However, the room was spacious, and even had it's own little outside rooftop garden: how cool!
On our first and third nights, we were a little disturbed by some kind of mechanical noise from very nearby, but it stopped after an hour or so. Our friends were three floors higher, and couldn't hear it.
There is a comfortable lounge for guest use, complete with drink-vending machines - but don't try to eat a snack there...

Room Tip: If you want quiet and a soft bed, go for a Western-Style room. If you want in-room Wifi and the shared lounge, go for a Japanese style room.

This was a semi-double room with the typical Japanese business hotel setup. Room was small (normal for this type of room), and included TV, refrigerator, desk, clock, yukata, bath supplies and tea set. Room was very clean and all facilities worked well. The Wifi worked well.

Location is as good as it gets: a few blocks from the streetcar stop, a few blocks from the the Atomic Bomb Dome and 1 block from the Hondori shopping district. Staff was helpful and
capable in English. Complimentary umbrellas were available for us to use for the rainy afternoon.

Room was a bit warm - which was quickly fixed by opening the window and getting fresh air.

Room Tip: Be sure to specify "non-smoking" if that's what you want. I forgot!

This hotel is in a great location when visiting Hiroshima. It is in the middle of a shopping/restaurant district so you have plenty of choices for meals, including a cheap breakfast joint nearby with the best coffee we had in Japan. You can walk to the Peace Park or the Shukkei-en Garden. The staff were wonderful and the room was comfortable and a decent size - like western standards. We did not check out the restaurants or other facilities.
