These Toyoko Inns are fairly standard across the country. Clean, comfortable, well-wquipped, small rooms. Efficient helpful staff. Lobby packed with extra services and facilities. Overpriced restaurant, free breakfast.
I chose this one because it was very close to Shin Yokohama Station, on the bullet train. From the station to the hotel is a 5-minute walk through a super-urban area, all concrete and overpasses. Beyond the hotel, though, is an entertainment area of restaurants and bars. A convenience store on every corner.
No problems with the hotel. Slept well in a cool room with a comfortable bed and full bathroom facilities. No noisy neighbours or intrusive staff. Room services daily to the usual high Japanese standard.
One thing, though: I woud skip the free breakfast. There was food (and drink) but it looked and tasted most unappetising. You know her your Mom always said breakfast would set you up for the day? Well, this one probably wouldn;t.
Very reasonable price.More
