I have stayed at the pavilion a couple of times now and if you like being near a city but not in it its great. Its very close to York but more in a village setting.
The hotel its self is a bit of a higgledy piggledy building, which adds to its attraction.
The rooms don't blow you away but they are comfortable and clean, the bar was pleasant enough and the breakfast vey good. Plenty of car parking and piece of garden out side of the restaurant or patio outside of the bar for warmer months.
The plough across the road is good for pub food.More
