Manager, Stephanie Maki, is a delight and could not be more helpful or reassuring. All her staff are in the same category and their attention to detail is excellent. We dined 3 nights out of our 5 night stay as the food was so delicious, well presented and reasonably priced. We would highly recommend this boutique hotel as is a tranquil oasis

Everything was perfect! We had a magical stay. The room was beautiful, the breakfast delicious, the dinner was a feast for the taste buds. Not to mention the warm welcome of the hotel manager, Stéphanie, who has made this trip so beautiful. She listens to customers and cares. We would definitely stay here again!

Serenity….however

After a recent stay I can confirm that Torrie E Merli lives up to marketing of describing itself as discreet luxury and serenity. All the buildings have been lovingly restored, the rooms well equipped and it duly nestles in an olive grove as described. Our room was almost perfect and the maid service well…we could not fault. In fact 95% of the staff were absolutely lovely. We really enjoyed our stay.

However….what a shame that a ‘boutique hotel’ failed with it’s attention to detail in certain areas:

• The pool area in particular and especially the glass tables located around were very dirty…we continued daily to clean these ourselves!
• Entering the pool via a shallow half moon piece was so precarious that one could say almost dangerous
• Sun beds need replacing as really too old
• The pool lining could do with some attention too
• On one occasion the bar/pool manager invited two teenage girls to sit by the pool. These could only be described as cavorting teenage lesbians! They actually took the guests allocated sunbeds and plonked themselves down. Then only to be served cocktails by the bar/pool manager (one could only guess free of charge!)
• One couple arrived laid their hotel towels on the floor because there were no available sun beds!
• The menu on display in the main building of the old house did not marry at any time to what was being served on an evening…very confusing
• We ordered a meal on our first night because my partner really wanted a certain ingredient…..the choice of meal was served as described minus this ingredient. No explanation until we asked. The reply came we do not have this…etc Really bad form as we really should have been told up front when ordering. We would actually then have chosen something different.

I have taken the time to quibble and moan at the above because at the height of the season a room here is 420 euros / night! At these prices things need to be improved. Attention to those details are necessary.

We also understood at the time of our stay that new management was in the process of taking over. I hope they may read my review……

This hotel is beautiful and a lovely site 10 minute walk down hill to Lakka. Lovely staff who regularly ask if all ok , great atmosphere food and surroundings. Pool area small but well set out with sun beds
We had the Rosa Canina suite ( top price of the hotel at 250 euros per night) in the top of the oldest building reached by treacherous stairs with overhang coming down for the head ! Air conditioning not working to achieve a level expected and no water replaced in the room minibar from previous day as advised not to drink tap water - tricky at 3am. Would expect more for a 5* boutique hotel
I would advise to avoid this suite
The staff on the desk gave no apology for the problems.
