The Brown Cottage is a very clean and comfortable place. The sitting room outside is huge and spacious and has a fire place , this made it very cozy and we spent two enjoyable evenings in front of it.
We stayed in the suits and they are also very spacious. Washrooms are clean. We were there in the month of Mar the hotel was completely blanketed with snow .The electric blankets coupled with the room heaters( backed up by generators) provided adequate warmth.
I was traveling with 03 senior citizens and was a liitle apprehensive at first but we were so well taken care of by the staff (a special mention to the manager Mr Ashraf who took care of our every need with a smile ) that we decided to extend our stay by another day.
The owner Mr Ibrahim was very cordial and personally ensured that everything was well taken care off.
We had a wonderful experience and look forward to going back there.

Room tip: Suits as they are spacious.

We were group of 8 people, out of which 5 were senior citizens. We all belong from different parts of india, which gets very hot during summers. We choose pehelgam as our first stop for the entire journey of 8 days. starting from jammu, pehelgam, srinagar, gulmarg, karta and back to jammu. Stay @ brown palace was a memorable of all, as Mr Ashraf and Mr Ibrahim has given a very good hospitality. Food quality was good, as was prepared as an when ordered and "served hot". what else would you demand in a wheather conditions as low as -4. It was really a treat to enjoy a hot food beeing served by the staff.

I have booked 4 budget rooms a month ago and to my surprise i have given 4 delux rooms on arrival. which a an added bonus. The hotel is is located away from noisy market place and was very quite. the lidder river flows right in front of the resort and snow cap montains at the back of the resort produced a very senic view of the hotel. the wodden cottage, electric blankets helped us to stay warm and confortable. I recommend "Brown Palace Pehelgam" a best place to stay in all aspects and all credit goes to Mr Ashraf and Mr Ibrahim for making my holiday a memorable one.

Thanks a lot Guys, And keep up the good work...!!!

We stayed here for three nights during our last Pahalgam visit in April.
The people are very much friendly. They sent a car to main market for pickup on first day.
Ashraf, the manager at hotel was very friendly and polite. He right away arranged the room heater for us as there was snow fall on the day we reached.. They have a diesel generator for power back up and all appliances will run on power backup also. The food was really nice and room services was upto mark. The location is in the larripora village, so the cost of living is lesser than the main Pahalgam market area. He offered his laptop to me free of cost as we had some urgent office work. The owner Ibrahim was also very polite and helpful. He also offered us to arrange the ponies for baisaran and cab for Aru and Betaab valley visits. He dropped us back to main market on the last day of our visit. We stayed for 3 nights over there.. and it was wonderful experience staying with such nice people...

We were a group of ten including 6 adults & 4 kids. Arriving on a cold and snowy afternoon (even in the month of April 2014) in Pahalgam without any confirmed hotel booking; Brown Palace was really cozy and warm. All the staffs were very helpful and we had a prompt room service in spite of all the calling bells being out of order due to the untimely snow. Food was good and tailor made according to the orders. Mr manager was particularly very cordial and helpful in all aspects. The placement of the hotel is really good besides the Lidder river and away from the maddening crowd of the market place. The fire place and the electric blankets helped us to feel at home even in the subzero temperatures. Thanks a lot for making our holiday a memorable one.

Room tip: Front rooms have a good view. The cottage though in the backside has an English appeal with the fire place and the small courtyard in front.

The hotel location is great. Beautiful mountain peaks and swift river flowing infront the resort. We loved the food served. Service was prompt and the room was ok. Located outside the town of Pahalgam but worth staying. We visited at the end of October 2013 . The weather was nice.
we also did a three day trek to Kolhi glacier which was arranged by owner Mr ibrahim through his agency mountain Magic, the experiences i will never forget the food in mountains the trekking gear tent +sleeping bags as well as sleeping mates so comfortable felt sleeping in home then in nature in a tent even in cold weather.
i will highly recommend this hotel to stay and for trekking.
next time we will do a longer trek for sure
