Attended a small family wedding in Ballykealey in September and everything was of the highest standard. The staff were excellent and attentive, the food was exceptionally good and the venue was beautiful. I couldn’t recommend it more, and hope to go back there soon!

We recently celebrated our wedding with a very small and intimate party of close family at Ballykealey House, and it was just exceptional.  We had a fantastic 4 course banquet in the wonderfully atmospheric setting of the Oak dining room, with excellent service and attention to detail. All of our guests stayed in the hotel, and absolutely loved the rooms. The next morning we all had a family breakfast, again with delicious food. The atmosphere was so relaxed and everyone felt so well taken care of by all the wonderful staff from planning with Angela, the Maitre D, all the way through to checking out with Luke and Ian. The perfect setting.

The perfect venue for a covid wedding party. We were seated in the stunningly beautiful tudor room with high ceilings chandeliers and fireplaces for a banquet fit for a King. I have never tasted a wedding meal as exceptinal as this - from the scallops to the fillet steak to the oozing chocolate bomb. It is michelin star food of the highest quality. We had so many gorgeous options for our humanist cereomony outdoors from the fountain to the enclosed woodlands but chose the 250 year old tulip tree in the expanise lawns beside the house. It was picture perfect. In the current pandemic you need a staff that are flexible trustworthy and honorable - Ian and Angela could not have done more for us. We are forever grateful to them and their team. This venue is a hidden gem.

Room tip: Stunning tudor rooms with four poster beds in the main house - family friendly lodges are about 100m from the house

What a welcome in this Covid 19 world everyone in Ballykealey made us feel so safe and very welcome. Top marks to the team. The hotel is a old Tudor style building steeped in history and the rooms have great character. We stayed in room 6 and our friends in room 5 they were both super although I did think a small table in room 5 would be a nice finishing touch. Best room is room 3 so go for it.
Food was superb we enjoyed breakfast light lunch and dinner all to a very high standard.
While there is no Spa in the hotel the walks around the area are to be enjoyed.
The hotel is currently only open on Saturday's and Sunday's, we did suggest that adding Friday would make it more attractive however if you get the chance stay and experience it for yourself its well worth it.

Room tip: Best room is number 3 super majestic old world charm with all the mod con's
