Just back from a 2 week stay in this campsite with a caravan and awning. We travelled with other families (with and without kids) so had a few spots together near the back. With regards space, the areas are very spacious which came in handy as we have 2x dogs. It also allowed us to park 2x cars at the front and back. Handy!
The general surroundings for us were excellent and we're exactly what we were looking for. There are places such as Clara Lara, Glendalough, Secret Waterfall, Glenmalure, Powerscourt etc all within ~20mins drive which is great. The town itself is also very attractive as it has a few gastro pubs (Coach House gets No. 1 spot by a long shot!) with a great butchers (!!), chipper, Chinese etc, all only a 5min stroll from the campsite which is handy.
Re the site itself, very well run by a very pleasant family. Jim (main man on the scooter ) and his wife (I didn't catch her name sorry!) are lovely but take no messing which, for me, is great for a family site. It's noise down by 10pm and is pretty strictly enforced. Personally, I think this is great as many people flock to campsites for this and its a rarity in many of today's sites. So, if you're a family or some guests looking for a relaxing camping experience then this is this is you. If you're chasing a few late party nights on site, there are other sites in Wicklow to better serve your needs.
Amenities on the site are very good. The playground is really nice for the kids and they have plenty of space to run around between hedges etc. We personally spent an hour in the morning many days fitness training on the grass where there was plenty of room. Water is pretty close to the pitches and electricity hook ups are at every pitch.
All in all, we're now looking at this as our 'go to' spot as we're only ~1.5hrs drive from Meath and its well worth the spin. Hope this helps anyone travelling.
