We have recently returned from staying in this lovely cottage in such a beautiful area of Ireland. The cottage was lovely and clean and was very well equipped. Its near the most amazing long beach that goes on for ever and ever. There is a little village close by with very good amenities. If you have a car the Wicklow mountains has the most stunning views. We visited Hook which was amazing and Waterford and President Kennedy's roots and more. Had the most amazing week and would like to thank Lena for letting us stay in her lovely cottage. The views from the back of the house watching the changing sky views were beautiful. Would definitely go back as so much more to see. We would definitely recommend this rental.

Four comfortable bedrooms, one double in the annex had en-suite and was allocated to me and my husband, being the oldies; sadly no clothes hanging space for us. Excellent kitchen with modern appliances but a very unstable sink tap and only six chairs for seven people,so had to borrow patio chairs from my sister who also had a rental in the area. The living room is very large with comfortable settees but no table, big or small so socialising, playing games or cards difficult. The satellite TV remained an impossibly technical mystery to us through two very wet days and then fortunately the weather improved so we didn't miss it. The owner was consoling with advice and was helpful in getting the broken kettle replaced immediately and has offered a compensatory refund for lack of TV. She is hopefully also replacing the locks as neither front door key was easy and luckily my sister has an 18 year old who could climb through a window to get us in.
The beach is really beautiful with some activities but is 5-10 minutes drive away; not a safe walk along a narrow busy road. There is plenty to do in the area, we enjoyed the historical visits to the famine ship and the 1798 rebellion centre, also our party had a memorable cycling expedition on the green way from Waterford. Avoid the nightmare rush hour traffic through Wexford.
Curracloe is a great spot but needs a few more decent restaurants and pubs.The only takeaway, Tim's Chipper ,was used once but never again; that was definitely not cod. The hotel was a few minutes walk but again was so busy that we had to wait till after 9 pm to get a seat. The supermarket was handy for the daily papers but we had to go into Wexford where there were a number of big supermarkets for the main groceries.
The house needs an information book with instructions on the TV and hob.
Despite the niggles we loved Curracloe and will especially never forget our encounters with a couple of inquisitive seals who came to say hello when we were swimming.
