Bowled over by the house & its surroundings. Gorgeous country house overlooking a lake. The style / interior of rooms is a credit to the owner. Very stylish and fresh. Modern bathrooms are tastefully incorporated into traditional room décor.

Great place for a weekend. We stayed for a wedding in nearby Clonabreany. Wish we had longer there.

Owner was excellent and extremely helpful. She tried to organise a taxi for us but ended up giving us a lift to the venue to collect our car the next day. A really nice gesture. We will be recommending this place.

Room Tip: room overlooking lake. Breakfast until 10 am.

We have just returned from a wonderful few days staying at Lough Bawn House. A lovely house in a perfect location which was an ideal base for our fishing trip. Verity was so welcoming and the food was amazing with spectacular views over the lough. A very special experience. Thank you!

We have just returned from a lovely stay at Lough Bawn House. If you need to rest and get your batteries recharged then this is the place for you!

Lough Bawn House is quite remote. You drive up a long lane and when you get to the top and see the view, you say 'wow'! The house overlooks the lough.

We were warmly welcomed by Verity who was out picking flowers for our room when we arrived. After depositing our case upstairs we made our way to the drawing room where a peat fire had been lit and tea and cake was brought to us - tea in china cups and saucers and two kinds of lovely home made cake.

Later that evening we ventured to Kells (25 minute drive) and ate in an excellent Indian restaurant. Verity will cook for you if this has been prearranged.

We returned and sat at the fire until late. The house is full of period pieces of furniture, there are plenty of books to read and you will feel very much 'at home' here.

Breakfast was served in the dining room, overlooking the Lough. Home made granola, homemade jams and marmalade, homemade wheaten bread and an Irish Breakfast - all delicious and ingredients were from the garden or sourced locally. The hen had just laid the egg!

Afterwards we had the option of walking down to the lough, via the fields. Bring your wellies!

Verity is a very gentle and gracious hostess.

You will leave refreshed and you will want to return.

I thoroughly recommend Lough Bawn House for a short break.
