Not good enough for what suppose to be
The restaurant has an opulent looking with nice furniture and look very clean. Service too. From this surrounding you expect to dine at a very good level.
I am sorry but my feeling is not as positive.
Such a good restaurant has , with reasons, a good and expensive menu, but is not all for good.
Definitely not an Italian chef , you can see by the preparations of the dishes, and contents of the same. Nothing to say if he comes from another country, by all means, but have you ever seen a european or American chef in Chinese or Indian or thai restaurants? So why then only by the Italian restaurants, is it so easy to do a menu? I knew Italian cuisine is one of the best of the world, probably most imitated , but doesn’t mean always is a good copy...
Of course you like to dine in a Italian restaurant as the perception is what above, you do not expect a good copy..
My personal opinion is that the quality and variations of original recepies,are not corresponding to a good standard. I say that with knowledge . I have not tried all the menu, I have seen many dishes around, cannot comment all, but some .
Some I have tried are not what you expect, sort of “lidl” quality, you pay for what you get, or you get for what you pay from your suppliers, and if there are importers, distributors and the restaurant profit to count, I am afraid, the quality may be not the top.. the good way you are served and looking the presentation of the dishes, doesn’t mean always that the quality is accordingly..
From my opinion , that has experience, the chef is not Italian, doesn’t mean is not good, but some of the spicy, herbs etc are not in the Italian couisine. No matter where is coming from.
So can be often the case of Chinese take away that offer Japanese menu, is a lot of difference..
Pizza is also not made with all proper ingredients. But one good ingredient is not enough to justify all lot.
Is listed by countries, of course white red rose and sparkling..
Apart of the sparkling , which I haven’t seen, all is screw top wine. Even in the big wall by the entrance.
It doesn’t mean a lot to me.
Mostly of the wine with screw top are the cheapest wine on the market. The reason are also of different taxes applied in ireland as well as , I believe in the uk.
Considering an importer, a distributor, and the cost of the restaurant plus the taxes, you can easily go from one euro , more or less to 20/30 euros.. this is not a problem of the drinker, also because the taxes are the same for one euro bottle or,two or more euro per bottle.
Is the quality that you drink the most important thing. These bottles contains more solfities then other. Solfities are not the best for your health. And you can feel it when you drink a lot of water after, or have headache, or more acidity in your body.
We are nowadays looking to improve our level of life, of health. This is not the best way..
Better one glass of good wine then a bottle of a poor one..
You avoid a lot of what above.
