Our small group tour of 12 from Thailand had been on the road since 8 a.m. and when we arrived in Taichung at Full Spring Hotel at 11 pm we were crestfallen when we found out that the hotel was in electrical blackout.
We sat in the air conditioned bus for another 40 minutes until power to the hotel was restored and at nearly midnight went to our rooms.
After such a long day I filled the spa bath with hot mineral spring water, stripped off, laid back and luxuriated in the water.
It was only later that I read the list of 13 instructions on the wall of the bathroom and was amused to read Rule No. 7: "Do not put pets in the bath".
This was the smallest twin room we shared in our six day tour of Taiwan, but the beds were clean and comfortable and we certainly had a good night's sleep after such a long day.
Full Spring Hotel needs to invest in a new toaster for its breakfast. I had to put my slice of bread through six times before it even began to get a tan.More
