Just a small theme restaurant that housed some good memories such as old train models and ticketing system.
Impatient staff.

Went to Xiang Jiao Xin Le Yuan after visiting the Confucius Temple.
It is a 2mins walk and should definitely come together in your itinerary.

A must-go place for vintage lovers. I enjoyed looking at all the decors and the beautiful vintage photos and advertisements plastered all over the restaurant. I went on a Saturday and there was a NT100 per head minimum expenditure to enter, not an issue considering that a glass of bubbletea there would set you back approx NT60-80. We spent an hour chilling in the restaurant and reading updated Vivi, Esquire magazines that are free to read in the restaurant.

Great place especially to bring the folks as they can reminisce on the good old days and memorabilia.

Good place to hang out with friends who want to get a feel of old Taiwan and tired of shopping but want good conversation and good food!

Read on reviews that Banana New Paradise is near Yizhong Street so decided to check it out. Phew! It's almost a 20 minute walk from Yizhong street. We did not find any directions to walk from yizhong street and had to ask around.

Basically, you walk in opposite direction from 台中技术学院. Along the way, you would have passed by a high school. Walk until you reach the end of the road, where you see a traffic light on your right and a overhead bridge on your left. This takes less than five minutes. Turn left and keep walking along this main road. You will pass by another school along the way and just do a check on the address of the shops to make sure the door numbers are in increasing order until you reach Banana New Paradise. You will see an old train carriage and this is it.

Do not attempt to walk at night if you are not familiar with the directions as there is minimal street lights along the way, even though the walk is along the main road. Go in the late afternoon and end your night at yizhong street.

This place is a restaurant with a nostalgic feel with a setting of the mid 90s era, ideal for camera-snapping. Food is average.

My friends and I spent 2 days and 1 night in Taichung. We didn't have much plans in Taichung and therefore, decided to pay Xiang Jiao Xin Le Yuan a visit. It was an interesting place and was excellent for some photo taking. The price of the food was not cheap, but pretty reasonable for a restaurant. We liked the decorations of the place.
