If you like nature then the surroundings are probably to your liking with lakes, hills and lots of forest. You can swim in the lake during the summer but the small beach is probably better suited for canoeing and stand up paddling.
There are quite a lot of activities compared to many other similar Finnish places and there is even a decent two lane bowling alley in the hotel. Unfortunately every activity costs. No free use of the pool table here.
This hotel and resort has been around for decades with a number of owners and a troubled financial past including a bankruptcy in 2014. Against this background, it's understandable the current owners are trying to run the place with a minimal crew and it show. Several customers complained that they had to carry the SUP boards from the hotel to the lake and back and that there was no-one renting the boards down by the lake. But this way, one person could handle everything from renting the SUP boards to overseeing the bowling lanes.
That said, the staff was friendly and the service good.
The rooms where clean and the furniture in good condition. But NO air conditioning. When it's hot and moist in June you don't want to try to sleep in a small room with no air conditioning. We asked for a desk fan or any fan at the reception but they did not have any.

Regarding the restaurant we tried both the buffet and the a la carte - the food was ok but expensive and the menu very limited.More
