The landscape is great, above and under water. The facility is rustic and functional. No unnecessary frills needed anyway.

The people are great! I have been staying in a number of resorts in Indonesia, none of them have the same kind of familiarity like in Sanctum Unauna. The staffs and the guests all mingle. If only the local staffs could speak English better, I'm sure they would also join the lunch and dinner party. But they are just as friendly even when they can only speak with made up sign language Haha.

The dive instructors are all great and very patient. They really know the place well too. They will show you even the smallest creature they could find while diving. Very helpful for the kind like me who has poor eyesight. They all speak good english (although some are French, Finnish, and German) and can speak simple sentences in Bahasa Indonesia.

Food is simple yet delicious. They also take careful note of everyone's dietary restriction and preference. Beef is very scarce tho because they are expensive. Also no pork because the dominant religion there is Islam, so there is no pig farm in the area.

Safety is superb too. You can leave your stuffs lying around for days, and they won't be moved unless the dogs can reach. They stole my husband's sandal once, and one sock. They are obedient to you as long as you know bahasa Indonesia and/or Finnish tho.

Few downsides (or plus, depends) are: they have very limited wifi package, and it's damn expensive to get there (not their fault). Just be sure to check the plane routes and speedboat schedules.

Really nice place far away from civilization. Rooms are good, food is great and people are nice. Diving was also really good, especially Apollo, Atlantis, P1 and Hong Kong.

Would give 5* but dive equipment was out of date. My reg looked like it hasn't been cleaned or used for awhile and couple bcd:s were leaking. Nothing major but because of those things not worth a 5*.

Diving was one of a kind, schools and swarms of fishes. Big sponges and seafans. Andri helped us a lot in getting us there and making the trip as comfortable as possible. Guides are friendly and nice. Environment is close to nature and quiet. A break from civilisation to recharge, relax and unplug. Focus on the good and the good increases.
