This was our first stop in a 2 week four hotel tour of Cost Rica. I wanted something quiet, near to San Jose Airport and a good base to recover from the flight from the Uk on day one and explore either San Jose or La Paz Waterfall Gardens on Day two before heading off to Tortuguero.
This hotel as with all the hotels I stayed in was relatively expensive by UK and Latin America standards but given the Costa Rican desire for carbon neutrality and environmental protection I am happy to pay more to help secure the nations goals.
The hotel staff were friendly, it was quite but so were all the hotels as it was the end of the low season and the start of the high but again that was exactly what I wanted. We had a car to get around which you would need, however we had a lovely meal at the Mirimar restaurant just down the road and an easy if very dark 10 minute walk away.

As you pointed out the hotel is near the airport, but on a mountain nearly 4,000 feet high so it is quiet here during the low season as well as the high season. ]The proximity to the airport is important for guests who are tired from a long flight, and want to rest and unwind. Am glad that you enjoyed the restaurant nearby, and suggest that the hotel has an excellent menu as well. It also offers, breakfast service to guests' rooms as well.
Thank you for writing.

The hotel has a really beautiful view of the city. It is especially mesmerizing at night. I stayed here just prior to leaving for returning home. There is a gas station about 3km down the hill on the left hand side for refilling your rental car, and it is about 8km to the airport (and a very easy drive to get there in about 15-20 min. The hotel has their own coffee growing operation on site, and does have a pool and restaurant. Wifi was good throughout and the hotel was very clean. I felt like the hotel would cater more towards an older clientele. Of note, the volcano Poas park is closed and has been closed for several months. I asked the front desk if they knew of other options of things to do nearby in the afternoon. They mentioned a coffee tour, but weren't able to offer any other suggestions, which was a little disappointing.

Thank you for tellling others about your stay. You mentioned the mesmerizing views at night of the valley below which is something that many other guests have commented as well. As for the receptionist not suggesting other points of interest, he is new to the job, and we have told him about the different things that tourists would be interested in seeing. We appreciate your writing and hope to see you again.

Stayed at Buena Vista at the beginning and end of our vacation in Costa Rica. Incredible staff, great service and very comfortable accommodations. We had one of the villas with a balcony overlooking the mountains and San Jose at a distance. You’re guaranteed breathtaking views. We’ll definitely stay here next time we’re in CR!

We ended up at the hotel because of Hurricane Nate. They took such good care of us. The hotel is a beautiful place. The rooms are nice and we'll appointed. The hotel overlooks the mountains. If I were to go back, I would stay here again. Andres was incredible along with the rest of the staff. There are a few restaurants within walking distance given the lack of streetlights I would suggest renting a car at this location rather than walking.

We are happy that you stayed with us and reviewed our hotel. Will tell Andres you spoke well of him. There are street lights here, and there has never been a robbery of of a guest. That being said, if a guest doesn't have a car and wants to go to a diffeent restaurant, would recommend a cab. Remember enjoyed talking with you, and hope that you will visit Costa Rica and Hotel Buena Vista again.

We were in Villa #1. Large, open villa with a balcony looking out over the mountain. We walked on the Coffee Trail one morning right out back of the villa. We had a delicious breakfast that was included with the room cost for the 4 of us! We also received a welcome cocktail. There was no kitchen in the villa but we had a small refrigerator and that's all we needed. The hotel provided free airport transportation too. We could not have been happier with this choice. We flew back to the USA the next day but wanted to stay longer.

Room Tip: We had Villa #1 which overlooked the roof of a few other villas, but we had no one on any side of us. It was fully detached.

Thank you for taking the trouble to review our hotel. Am pleased that you liked the services and the facilities the hotel offers. The free shuttle to and from thel hotel is a big advantage for guests. In addition to a convenient location near the air port, the hotel is also well positioned for trips to Guanacaste and the Osa Peninsula.
