The entire experience was delightful, the Villa was enchanting and the staff/service was beyond perfect. The restaurant was superb with Alicia as manager and Gina & Victor with their great service and attention. The front desk staff and concierge took great care to help us plan our Tuscany excursions. This could not be a more perfect place to center our trip in Tuscany from. It was hard to leave the Villa for our daily trips into the countryside, but it was always a welcoming return each day. I can't give Villa di Piazzano a a more exceptional rating. Jack & Karen James

Room Tip: Our large room, the Tramonto Toscano, was on the front facing the courtyard. Great location.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it by a day, pushing our time in Rome back! Villa di Piazzano is the "whole package". Friendly, accommodating staff that go above and beyond to make your stay exactly what you want it to be. The food (and coffee!!) was exquisite. The Villa is breath-taking in it's views and old-world charm. The grounds are very well-kept. I thoroughly enjoyed reading my book on a lounge chair by the pool. Our room and en-suite bath were very comfortable with ample room and decorated in shabby-chic style. Loved the beams on the ceiling and the little windows that could be opened to hear the birds singing away. We enjoyed the wine tasting with Davide down in the cellar, of course the Brunillo was our favorite! The location is perfect as you are only a short drive away from Cortona, a fabulous little town with history and charm. I can't remember a vacation destination where we enjoyed such relaxation. We can't wait to go back!!

Our only regret about staying at Villa di Piazzano was that we were only there for three nights. Delicious food, beautiful grounds and setting, amazing staff who are both attentive and friendly without being over-bearing, and the accommodations are outstanding. Take advantage of the wine tasting and cooking classes as well as a trip into the medieval town of Cortona which is nearby. Also, though it is an hours drive, go to Orvieto and take the cave tour under the city. Don't be afraid to drive as there is parking available in the city. Concierge services at the Villa are excellent and they can provide full details about these and other excursions nearby, but you can also just sit with a glass of wine and soak up the countryside.

Room Tip: I believe I was in room 202. It had a second floor loft room that looked into the hillside that I found to be a fantastic, and quiet, getaway from the world. Great place to nap, read or stare out the window at the fall foliage.

Our stay here was great! We regret that we did not plan to leave more time to just relax on the grounds of the hotel - it is peaceful and beautiful. Daily breakfast was a huge plus. Staff very friendly and accomodating.

We received a free upgrade on our room which was excellent. The room itself was spacious, not cramped at all like many other European hotels.

The concierges were very helpful in recommending activities, including a 500+ year old ceramics family workshop in Deruta which was fantastic.

Restaurant was a bit pricey compared to dinner in Cortona but food was great so it was worth the convenience. (And still less expensive than a typical dinner for us back in NYC!)

The hotel and Cortona is a little bit out of the way for touring the "Heart of Tuscany"- probably adds an additional 20 minutes a day driving. But the vibe here is much more relaxed than in the more centrally located towns, which is what we were looking for.

Cortona itself was very enjoyable. We climbed to the top of Cortona at sunset on our first day based on hotel's instruction and recommendation and it was breath-taking. There were also some great restaurants in Cortona - Osteria del Teatro, La Grotta, La Loggeria.

We would stay here again.
