This is a museum of a well-known finnish artist, Reidar Särestöniemi. I adore his paintings, that's usually the reason to visit a museum=)) but unfortunately there are not so many paintings...That's really weird. But nevertheless the place is big and interesting, u can see where and how he lived and worked. Attention! On the territory of the museum u walk mostly along forest trails, a bit rocky, so sometimes it's really difficult to move with a stroller and I reccomend aged people to have some assistance. I'm also not sure it is really accessible for disabled persons.

He was a controversial figure in Kittilä and also one of the few artists who could enjoy financial success,too, during their life time. There is the birth house and also two toher gallery buildings on of whis is designed by Reima and Raili Pietiä - a world famous architect couple. His paintings create the world class atmosphere here in "the middle of nothing" and the artistic bed for the dog was also very impressive - as well as the large swimming pool! One of the galleries has burned down but still the site leaves you wondering for a long time about life in general.....
