Hotel Bellevue is right on the edge of the lake. There is an outside cafe where they serve drinks and crepes and the atmosphere is very relaxed and the view is stunning. Our room was right at the top of the hotel - no lift - but the view from our window was gorgeous. The room was basic but clean and perfectly adequate for our one night stay and we could have our dog with us. No tea and coffee in room but this seems to be the norm in France and Spain.
Continental breakfast was not the best we’ve had. Quite basic and not a lot of choice. No evening meal provided and not much open in the vicinity.
Had a lovely walk all around the lake - takes about 45 minutes and worth doing. Met several people fishing for crevettes and their buckets were quite full.
The whole area of Augergne is stunning and well worth a visit.

Attic room with some views of the lake from the bathroom. Lovely hosts and good value for money. We were in a budget room which suited us perfectly as we were just taking a break from a long drive. Had a lovely walk along the Lake and then back over a mini volcano to Murol. The resort was very quiet and very few restaurants were open in Chambon sur Lac . It looked like the season really got going in July.

Room tip: If you want a great view and a better room you would need to stay on the first or second floor and ask for a balcony.

After an exhausting and cold day riding the GTMC mountain biking trail, my friend and I stumbled into Murol to find a place to stay out of the rain. At a pizza shop in town, a kind man caked the Hotel Bellvue to ask if we can stay. Upon arriving, we were greeted, helped with our bikes, and set up in a very clean and comfortable room. The next morning (after a great breakfast), the proprietors spent over an hour trying to help us navigate transportation with the train strikes on at that time. We experienced incredible service and a great room, so I would recommend the Hotel Bellevue to any travelers through this beautiful area.

Stayed here a few years ago. Super view on the mountains. Owner is super sympa! Close to little café with great entrecotes. La petit plage has a swimming pool. Great hiking tours available in the mountains. You must try the local dish called la truffade
