Projekt Kodu is located in a beautiful forest in the middle of Lahemaa National Park. The location is isolated and best reached by car, but if you come by public transport they offer to pick you up in Loksa, the nearest village that has a bus connection with Tallinn.
Our tent was spacious, with a comfortable bed and extra blankets for cold nights.
The common area includes a little kitchen and sitting area (and chargers for your mobile phone), and even a wellness with a sauna and two of the best and inventive hot tubs I've ever seen. If you want you can get a traditional Estonian sauna experience, which includes getting hit with birch branches (much more comfortable and relaxing than it sounds). It's all back-to-basics, but I mean that in the nicest way possible. Everything just oozes charm and tranquility, and even though the facilities are bare-bones, everything is clean and well maintained. Every day breakfast and dinner is served in the common area. Ingredients used included vegetables and herbs from their own garden or the forest, everything was vegetarian and delicious without exception. The common area was a good spot to meet fellow travelers and enjoy a cup of nettle tea, and Maari and her crew were very hospitable, helpful and nice. They also organise activities like yoga and a herbal and medicinal plant workshop, but we didn't partake in this.
It's a good spot to explore Lahemaa if you have your own wheels, and if you don't there are bicycles you can use for free. the only regret I have is that two nights in this little slice of heaven was way too short.
All in all a fantastic experience I highly recommend to everyone! (and don't forget to take mosquito repellent with you)
