We spent 2 nights here with a Travelzoo deal great value included was a bottle of wine in the room,3 course evening meal, cream scone tea and 25% off spa treatments.

The rooms are modern light and a good size there were lots of to assist and all were very friendly and professional. The restaurant was very clean lots of waiting staff breakfast choice was huge the best I have ever had evrything you could possibly want.We had food both evenings and it was all very good the sticky toffee pudding was particularly good. The afternoon scone and cream was OK 2 scones per person. Pool and spa was excellent and the neck and shoulder massage was highly recommended. Would I stay again yes. Ideally situated for Cheltenham and the Cotswolds.

Room Tip: Room 33 has the air conditioning unit outside the window so could wake light sleepers

We stayed at the Cheltenham Chase for 2 nights so we could explore some of the nearby attractions (Slimbridge and Prinknash Deer and Bird Park). We were one hour early for check-in but our room was ready so they gave us our keys - this meant we could spend more time in the spa that afternoon :) We had a VIQ room so had drinks in the fridge, bathrobes, luxury pillows etc. which was n a nice touch. We spent the first afternoon in the spa which was nice, but perhaps not ideal for a relaxing spa day as the pool and facilities are shared with children. However it was perfect for what we wanted - a dip in the pool and some time in the steam room. We had dinner included on both nights (£28 per person per night limit) which was ample - we each had a starter, main and dessert and still had money left over. The money cannot be used on drinks (which are super pricey!) so we had a jug of tap water and then enjoyed the drinks we had in our minibar included in the VIQ room. The food was lovely but is very slow on coming out - you need 2 hours for a 3 course meal to be served. We found both nights to be very slow - we waited 20 minutes the first night for a dessert menu to be brought to our table. Breakfast was lovely and contained an excellent selection. We did have to be re-seated as the waiter cleared our plates, jug of tea and fruit juice as we both (we went as a couple) went to the toaster - seemed odd that they would clear away a full table so quickly - but they did. The next day we made sure only one of us left the table at a time! Overall staff were nice and pleasant and the hotel was clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the back gardens rather than the car park

My wife and I booked a 2 night stay through Travelzoo to visit Tewkesbury and Gloucester. The deal included dinner on the first night a bottle of wine a cream tea and breakfast on both days.
The room was comfortable and well-equipped with bath and shower and kettle for tea and coffee. Dinner was excellent but based on a spending limit so not fully inclusive. Wine was expensive. We could have bought a second night's dinner at a discount but went for a nearby Harvester instead. Spa and leisure centre were excellent-particularly the pool. Staff were very helpful, helping us locate the bus stop for a trip to Gloucester.

We had a pleasant weekend here. The hotel was easy to find and a good base for travelling into Cheltenham (disappointing) and Gloucester (nice - visit the cathedral!).
The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and a really good shower.
The staff were all friendly and eager to please and the swimming pool/gym were clean and well equipped.
There were a few niggles!.....first of all, I was pleased to see that they stocked a local draught ale but sadly, they had ran out! Not to worry, they had the same ale in bottles and it was very nice...but, they ran out of that on the second night - not good!
In the restaurant, the service was pretty slow but the food was good. However, the chocolate brownie with coconut ice cream didn't come with coconut ice cream - it was vanilla (the waiter said he knew and maybe they ought to amend it on the menu!).
The second night was interesting - I ordered the butternut squash soup for starters but when it arrived it was clearly leek and potato. I told the waitress who checked with the kitchen-she came back to say that she had asked three other staff members what the soup of the day was and they all told her three different things! They just didn't have a clue ...but I then heard another waitress inform another diner that the soup of the day was broccoli !!!
The service was again rather slow and the restaurant gives an impression of only just coping. Breakfast on our second morning confirmed this when they ran out of brown sauce, bread etc.
However, the hotel is nice and the staff work hard.
One other tip - check your bill carefully. We were overcharged but thanks to the help of Mollie on reception who checked through everything in a cheerful and professional manner, all was resolved.
A nice hotel, an enjoyable stay......could have been even better!
