My wife and I stayed five wonderful and enjoyable days in Burleigh Court. It was as good as ever. The relaxing atmosphere conjured up by the attentive staff, the excellence of the food served, and the beautiful countryside on which it looks down all added up to a great holiday. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Room Tip: ask for room at the front of the hotel facing down the valley

We booked for an afternoon tea, although originally a booking for 19, only 13 people were able to come. We had not been asked for any deposit so didn’t think we were committed to numbers as two days prior to the party had told Burleigh Court there would probably only be 15 people attending. We were charged full price for 19 people and had asked that only 12 cream teas were supplied but to no avail. The setting is beautiful, the restaurant however stank of fish when we arrived. They did allow us to take all the food home, but who wants a doggy bag of sandwiches and cake? Disappointed that they would not compromise, we should have been clearer when booking, but won’t go back in a hurry. Disappointing.

A hugely welcome stop & most pleasant surprise. Very hospitable staff, lovely building & outstanding food. Room 2 had lovely outlook towards back of building, which during the heatwave was welcome. Will happily return

Hotel is in a pretty setting with magnificent standard fuchsias dotted around the entrance and courtyard. We were seated in a lovely room used solely by ourselves. The selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes were dainty and delicious. Service was attentive and helpful. Recommend.

6 of us went for a birthday celebration dinner , from time of booking, staff could not have been more helpful.
We ordered a jug of Pina Colada Mimosa for the ladies served on the terrace so we enjoyed the fabulous views, our menfolk were happy with their locally brewed beers....great canapés as well.
The menu made choosing very difficult as there were so many tempting items.
We loved the restaurant with it’s crisp well ironed tablecloths and sparkling glassware.
All 6 of us enjoyed our selected starters....my only slight disappointment was l found the cheese soufflé slightly dry and if l had it again would ask for some cheese sauce or such to accompany it......l am confident that the Chef would provide as this appears to be a hotel that is determined to do everything to ensure happy customers.
The main courses had us all moaning with delight, not one negative comment.....nor about the desserts, nor about the coffee served in the comfort of the bar.
Being nit picky, l would say that the standard of the outdoor tables and chairs could do with an upgrade to befit the standard of the indoor furnishings. A few of the chairs were rickety and we moved tables to find one that was not in need of some repair.
Again nit picky, but the lovely lady who greeted us and looked after us, l would have loved to see her dressed more professionally...Her gentleman colleague looked the part, and both gave us excellent service.
Burleigh Court is a jewel of a place, go and treat yourselves.
