Just returned from a long weekend at this beautiful holiday lodge. WOW was my first impression, the setting is so peaceful you can really unwind. The lodge was equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. The member of staff that popped by to say hello was very polite and helpful. You can't help but be blown away by the beautiful lakeside setting. There wasn't much to do which suited me, we did walk to the Old George Inn Pub for a tasty Sunday Roast. I would recommend and return if I needed a relaxing holiday. Orion really did deliver with this lodge, there are plenty of places close by that you can stay which are more family oriented and active, but I have to say this was perfect for our needs. There was a great Spa up the road what more can you ask for :)
Just one con....... the postcode didn't take us directly there so had to stop at the main entrance and ask for directions, there was no one to assist so had to ask a lady in the cafe who directed us to an Orion office where we were given directions. Friends of our arrived in total darkness and took a while to find us, my advice to resolve this would be correct postcode and perhaps a decent map emailed prior to arrival date.
Just returned from a great week at this holiday rental for a 3 generation family, 6 adults and two babies - the accommodation is excellent, very well laid out and equipped (particularly the Kitchen) and the fresh flowers and tea and coffee available on arrival were an appreciated welcoming gesture. In a gated complex with lovely lakeside views to wake up to every morning and with the added luxury of a really nice jacuzzi on the decking. The babies were very comfortable in the high chairs and travel cots provided at very minimal extra cost and having access to a washing machine and tumble drier came in very handy. Every one from Orion was very helpful and the £5 Spa offer available was well worth taking up, providing some very well earned downtime. This rental is well located for visiting local sites, the Cotswold's Zoo is a great day out as is a visit to Burton on the water, only two minor things that could improve this lovely accommodation, the down stairs bedroom has a lovely wet room which would make this rental ideal for less able if there were some grab bars (the only thing that would prevent us staying here with our 4th generation family members) and the boathouse (lovely eatery/pub) just up the road doesn't serve food to 11am, when you have to vacate this holiday home by 10am. I'm sure we will return here again, thank you Mark from Orien for helping me to book and please pass a message onto the water baliff - my son says there are very big pike in the lake.
