Great quiet location in Vouilly with quick access to N13, great parking for 2/3 cars, Gite is simply amazing with a brand new pool, Xbox and DVD's and Bakery delivery, Fantastic to have a huge private garden for the children to play in. Only possible downsides if forced to think of them are the headroom on stairs if you are much over 6ft or a member of your family struggles with stairs.
Thank you Samuelle - will hopefully be back if we choose Normandy again !!
My wife and kids, along with my in-laws, stayed at the Utah & Omaha Mansions for a week in early May. I don’t even know where to begin. The houses are stunning in both location and decoration. While conveniently located near a small town with grocery store, markets, and shopping, the property itself is private and beautifully maintained. The garden is flat, green, and has a playset for kids (which mine used every day, and are begging for us to put into our own yard back here in the States). There is also an outdoor table, grill, and large dining table. We ate outside almost every night.
The inside of the house is equally beautiful. Samuelle has an incredible sense of design, and many of the art pieces around the house are from her travels. And, while meticulously decorated, it also feels comfortable and family-friendly. The entire house has been renovated, and while the kitchen and bathrooms have all the modern updates, she has maintained the historical integrity and style of the house. It honestly felt like home for the week.
The location of the house in Vouilly is ideal for exploring all of Normandy. We rented a car for the week, and visited the D-Day beaches and Pointe du Hoc, Bayeaux, Mont Ste. Michel, Honfleur, Cherbourg, and many of the small towns in between.
Samuelle is a most gracious hostess – always there to answer any questions you have, but also totally respectful of your privacy. I highly recommend ordering the croissants and baked goods to be delivered in the morning. There is nothing like waking up and finding these sitting outside your window!! We can’t wait to go back and stay again.
We spent a marvellous week at Clos de Blisse in April. I have been going to France for a number of years and have stayed at various holiday houses and I can honestly say that this is our favourite place.
Firstly, Samuelle is a wonderful host that is very dedicated and enthusiastic about the property, the houses and the attention to detail. We had a wonderful evening with her, her wonderful children and the other guests from the property. It is great to share stories about other cultures and countries over a couple of drinks and appetizers.
Secondly, the property is very enchanting. There is a beautiful lake, a large well groomed private yard, spa, hot tub, row boat, doves and beautiful countryside. The house is located near Isigney-Sur-Mer where you can find all the amenities. It is also central to all the Normandy D-Day beaches.
Thirdly, the house is beautifully decorated with many high-end appliances (the stove/range/hob is amazing) and details that you will not find in any other rental – stone floors, period furniture, comfortable beds and linens, high-end washrooms, etc.
Utah house is a beautifully renovated building and the owners have taken great care in making it a very comfortable place to stay. We stayed with our three children and used it as a base for a history tour - D-Day and Bayeux. The location was perfect, and we enjoyed the garden and lake. Samuelle, one of the owners, was very helpful with information and advice about where to go and it was a real pleasure to talk to her and hear her stories. The accommodation itself is very tastefully done and is immaculate. We would not hesitate to return; it was a complete delight to stay in such a lovely place.
We were looking to live the expat life for 11 days or so in a small Norman village and Le Clos de Blisse fulfilled our dream. Samuelle, Mathias, and family are warm and gracious hosts who made us feel at home. Utah House and property is as described with thoughtfully decorated and comfortable rooms that you'll relax in after a day of exploring the countryside. Vouilly is about 20 minutes away from Isigny where you'll find a supermarket, bakeries, butcher, cheese, and other specialty shops along with cafes and restaurants. I highly recommend Le Clos de Blisse to those independent travelers looking for a unique Normandy vacation experience.
PS... Mathias makes darn good pizza!
