We thought this place being a shack, would have reasonable prices. Unfortunately not. One fish alone cost THB700. This place was the most expensive meal we had in Phuket! The food was so so. A good thing was the owner sent us back to the hotel after the meal as it was raining.

Don't judge a book by its cover... that is right! The food here is 10 times better than the surrounding restaurants. It is family run I believe and the food and service is lovely! Fresh food, even for a vegetarian this is good. If you are bored of the hotels in Mai Khao then definitely try this. I had the vegetarian pad thai and loved it, my partner had fish (can't remember which!) but the portion was huge! For the price you pay it is good!

We stayed at the renaissance near by and asked the hotels shuttle to drop us off here.

We stayed at Anantara and was looking for a place to rent a bike when we stumbled upon this restaurant. It's a row of about 5 little restaurants and Nong Mai Rim Lea was the first. We had seafood in basil leave rice, Pad Sie Ew and morning glory. The prawns and seafood was very fresh. Decent food if you are tired of hotel food and pricing. It's not that cheap if you compare to what you can get in Koh Samui but if you compare to the hotel, it's cheap

The local Thai Restaurant is in the near of the SALA Resort between Anantara and SALA. The food is one of the best local Thaifood we found in Thailand. The Location and the Ambiente is not like in the 5*Star Resort, but its very clean, original Thai Ambiente, Outside, Small and the Staff are very very friendly. And the Food is mutch better then in the Resort and also mutch mutch better than in Thai Restaurants in Europe or America, you have the choice between spicy (hot) or non spicy. Its not so cheap like the Streetrestaurants in Bangkok or other Thaicitys but mutch cheaper then in the Resorts. Top!!! Thank you!!!

We went here several times and found the food to be consistently delicious. It is the first in a group of four or five small restaurants just down the road from the Renaissance and Sala, going towards the Jw Marriott. There is a bigger bar and restaurant close by too called Mai Khao Seafood - don't waste your time, it is nowhere near as good. Prices range from 100 to 300 baht for a main dish, although some seafood is sold by weight (fish were 60 baht per 100g). My favourite was the seafood curry in a coconut and the Pad Thai wrapped in an omelette was tasty too.
