“Our new regular holiday hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2012

This was our second visit to the Alcudia park in just under a year (last visit was October 2011) and again loved it. We have a 2 year old daughter who loves the beach and the pool so the Alcudia park is ideally located as you can virtually fall out of the pool bar and onto one of the best beaches we have ever been to. The hotel is in good condition and clean. We had a one bedroom apartment in block 1 facing out with a partial sea view and a double width balcony. Nice and quiet. The only points letting the room down was one of the single beds squeaked when ever you moved on it, and that the air conditioning didn't really cool the room much. The free form pool is lovely but a bit cool on some days (I imagine in the height of summer it gets a bit warmer) but this didn't stop our daughter wanting to be in it at any given opportunity. Entertainment was good and enjoyable and like mentioned in other reviews, the entertainments team never stopped. The staff are fantastic and always said "Hola". They made a particular fuss over our daughter especially the reception staff and waiting staff. Special mentions to Tony, Windsor, Essa (can't spell his real name, but remembered our daughters) and Mariatte (Mary) and a very special mention to the love of our daughters life David the waiter who never failed to get her to laugh and smile and who remembered us from the last time we were there. The hotel caters for lots of nationalities with German and British being the majority. Have to say we had no problems with the Germans. In fact they were more polite and a bit quieter that a lot of the English. Only very small down side to the holiday (other than it coming to an end) was the food was maybe not as good as it was last year. This could be down to it being the start of the season but I would still rate it at over 90%. All in all we love the place and can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Become repeat visitor. Our room was closer to the sea and higher up than last time.

Just back from an 11 night stay at this hotel on the 26th May 2012. We are a family of 3 with a 4 year old child. Our holiday was booked through Thomas Cook who I have to say could not have done anymore to be of assiatnce during the flight from Glasgow to Palma.

We had a hire car which meant our transfer was by car which would recommend as its so easy to ge to all the tourist places without the hassle or the cost of an organised tour.

When we arrived at the hotel we could not have been more happy with the appearance. The hotel reception area was spotless and we were met with some of the friendless staff I have ever met in a hotel. Although we arrived after the restaurant was closed they had made food available to late arrivals in the form of a cold buffet which was very much appreciated. The reception staff explained all the hotels facilties and explained how the all inclusive system worked.

Our room was a one bedroom apartment with a sea view which we had paid for in advance. As the other comments state the rooms are slightly dated but still more than comfortable and again spotless clean as the whole hotel was. Daily the rooms were cleaned by yet more friendly staff.

The hotel was without doubt the cleanest we have ever stayed in. The pool was the cleanest I have ever seen with a lifeguard on duty between 10:00 and 18:00 daily which was a great addition for everyones safety.

Being all inclusive was great. The restaurant was very well organised with food to suit even the fusiest easters. Yes it was a little german orientated but it was none of the less perfect. The head chef was constantly checking the food and ensuring the best was available to everyone. We were served by two of the loveliest waitresses Natasha and Rosa who were perfect. Nothing was a problem to them and they were great with our little boy. They really made meal times a pleasure.

The location of the hotel is great. Being right on a spotless beach with a beach bar that you can have lunch at and relax to enjoy the evening entertainment. The entertainment staff were superb and worked what seemed like 24 hours a day but the energy and enthusiasm they had was unblievable. Between running the kids club, daily entertainment including afternoon bingo; (which is a must for everyone. Was great fun and a great way to meet other poeple) and the evening mini kids disco and evening entertainment they socialised with all the guests. Entertainment was unfortunately aimed mainly at german children at the mini disco as all songs were in german which was a downside. Maybe something Iberostar could look into sorting.

Overall we could not have asked for a better time at this hotel. From the cleaning staff right through to the manager (minus the odd memmber of bar staff) we could not have been made to feel more welcome. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and have done already. Normally I would not return to the same hotel year after year but this will be the hotel I'll be back at very soon. Well done Iberostar and all the staff. Some minor tweaks and you will be winning the hotel of the year from trip advisor a lot more.

Room Tip: Its worth paying a little extra for the sea view. Absolutley stunning views over the whole beach an...

A wonderful family holiday, undoubtedly 4 Star food and service but struggling to achieve 3 Stars in accommodation, pool temperature and bar service. We holidayed, 5-15 May 2012, all inclusive, 5 adults 2 children and an infant.

After a harrowing 2.5 hr transfer from Palma with Viajes Urbis we were deposited across the road from what could have been a clinic. There were very few drivers that knew where the Iberostar Alcudia Park was, the hotel sign was discreet and obscured by parked cars. The lobby was as plain as the edifices facia and the consistency of the night porters personality. The disappointment was to reach its summit as we opened the door to our tiny, dated, green apartment. The beds were uncomfortable, the storage and living space meagre.

However, as the sun rose the following day, the location and layout of the grounds were to quash any doubts we had. The pools (viewed on youtube a week previous) were situated between accommodation blocks leading up to a fantastic pool bar/restaurant that bridged onto the finest stretch of the 6 mile beach, from Can Picafort to Port d’Alcudia. An indoor pool and Spa were situated in this area. The outdoor pools were freezing; many people at this time of year preferred the beach. This really affected entertaining the children during the day as they wouldn’t go into the pool. My recommendation to Iberostar would be to, earn their 4 stars and heat the outdoor pool, in the early season.

The restaurant served 3 superb feasts a day, staffed by polite and patient waiters. The only slight to any dining experience were a couple of rude German guests that believed a buggy should not be brought to meals, but that’s all part of the holiday experience. The front of house staff and front desk staff were superb, the entertainment staff are unparalleled in 18 years of holidaying! I would implore you at this stage to take part in the entertainments, bingo was hilarious (I’m a 35 yr old rugby player).

The all-inclusive tariff included cocktails and beer that was not offered on tap, such as San Miguel; two types of ice-creams were on offer at the pool bar all day. Coffee, wine, water and soft drinks were all self-serve, both at the pool bar and restaurant; the hotel bar is waited and served. I have holidayed with Gruphotel in Mallorca before now, and spent a fortune on cocktails. Iberostar, in my opinion, have the advantage in their tariffs for all inclusive. However, I did detect a note of distain in some of the older male bar staff when serving all-inclusive guests, compared to fee paying guests.

Mini Club was expertly conducted by the girls from the entertainments staff. It ran 2 sessions a day for 4-7 yr olds and a mini-disco from 2000-2100 every night. The external entertainments were hit and miss and the hotel could benefit with a dimmer switch in the main bar at night.

In conclusion, a perfectly located hotel for a quieter family holiday, on a heavenly stretch of beach with great staff; port d’Alcudia on the doorstep. If they renovated the accommodation and heated the outdoor pool, we would return; If not it’s back to Gruphotel for us!

Room Tip: Is doesn't matter if you go for pool view, or car park, we did both, the rooms are all poor. Sav...

What a pleasant welcome when first arriving at the Hotel to be greeted by a Britney look alike!
The hotel is very clean, the cleanest hotel I think I have ever stayed at. Using the cots, highchairs etc I had no problems putting my little girl in. Our room although on the small side was also very clean, cleaned by housekeeping daily. I also had full confidence leaving my things around, phone on charge, watch & money on the side etc. The pool was very big and again very clean. The layout of the hotel worked well, with immediate access to the beach. The sea was very shallow allowing you to walk out quite far and it was warm! The bars we stocked with plenty of choice of drinks, the bar staff could of been happier, some were a little grumpy. The entertainment crew worked very hard, all day and all night, GREAT for kids, This is a kids holiday hotel and if your wanting to take your family away for some sun and chill out, this is the one! The food was spot on, lots & lots of choice, all cooked perfect, the staff in the restaurant worked very hard to keep tables clean and plates cleaned away. Great effort. All in all a very enjoyable hotel, the only downside is it was very GERMAN orientated. With the entertainment in German, most of the guests were German. Personally I have no problems with Germans but after this holiday I now find them very rude with no manors. Although on German I met was very nice!! A few good shops around, very close to Alcudia, car rental across the road from the Hotel is very cheap and nice cars too!

Room Tip: Always good to have pool & sea view, although the other rooms still have good views. No building...

Checked in and given a bigger room than we were expecting. Very clean.
Was on half board but paid additional for the drinks package. Only translated to drinks with dinner so probably not worth it.
Their system was that you had to hand in a receipt each evening to redeem the drinks. Not being all inclusive seemed to make the staff suspicious of us and we were constantly being hassled to show our drinks receipt or prove we were on half board. On the last night we actually got accused of stealing drinks which was not a nice feeling!
The entertainment was definitely geared to families. As a couple without children we needed to look elsewhere and not much was on offer in the immediate area. Worth the trip in a taxi to Alucudia as much more going on.
I was disappointed by the spa as they were unable to offer a few of the services that they advertised.
Overall, good value for money and would strongly recommend for families looking for all inclusive holiday however would advise couples to look elsewhere.
