Took advantage of the great price they have on offer now due to one of the pools being renovated. We were 3 families of 4 including children and they were very accommodating with our reservation. The price was incl. of taxes and buffet breakfast and we all had a great time. The breakfast is of course amazing with live cooking stations and a great variety of foods to choose from. All of the restaurants were open and there was plenty for us all to do. the kids had a great time trying out the various activities that were on offer. and the pool was not that busy so would recommend it for a week end break.

Room Tip: Garden views are great and cheapest and very quiet!!!

I stayed at Le Meridien Phuket for 5 nights. When i did the booking I had to book 2 rooms since my 2 kids (aged 8 & 6) were not allowed to share the room with us.

Sunny took care of our check-in, it took a bit of time since she had to scan all 4 passports, but she did a good job and apologized for the delay. She then handed us to Wandia who showed us the grounds of the hotel and took us to our rooms.

The room size is good, with a good sized bathroom. But the rooms are old, and it is time for renovation. Other than that, everything else is excellent.

We were lucky that at the time of our stay, one of the pools of the hotel was under renovation. For us we were not affected at all, because the pool closer to our rooms (rooms 6 & 8) was open. We were lucky because the hotel offered many things to its guests as a compensation for pool renovation. Compensations included, 40% discounts at the spa, or buy one get one free, also, 15% discount in all hotel restaurants. On top of that, kids eat free once main entrees are ordered, and discounts on tours as well. These offers made our stay an amazing one.

The breakfast was good with a lot of variety, and you could either have your breakfast indoors or outdoors. The staff were great at the restaurant especially Nitwara who made everything possible. Chef Ryan Hong was very helpful also ensuring all guests are satisfied.

As for the grounds of the hotel, an amazing clean and safe beach. On top of that a huge pool, with enough depth for a dive or a swim. Good restaurants, we preferred the Thai restaurant who served delicious food. We also tried the beach BBQ, which was really good.

We got all that we needed from the tour desk. Poopae was very helpful and informative. She helped us a lot with the tours and recommended amazing tours. The kids club was okay but thought it would be better.

There are several areas that I did not like in Le Meridien Phuket Resort, and they are as follows:

1. The rooms and doors of the rooms are very thin, you can literally hear the voices of people that are in other rooms. There is no privacy at all.

2. The air conditioning was not cooling very well. I had to call a couple of times for maintenance. It was fixed at the end but had to keep it as maximum so we had to get used to the loud blowing sound.

3. The kids club was not bad, but they had rules that were not good. For example my kids wanted to watch TV but they were told that they can only watch TV at a certain time! They were not allowed to play in the trampoline until I was back calcimining it is for their safety. The staff at the club were not very friendly with the children. It is more of a day care than a kids club. It is convenient for leaving kids there if you want to enjoy a couple of hours at the spa or pool, but not for kids enjoying their time.

4. The security guards at the outer gate were asking for our room number every time we were entering the hotel. It was great that security guards were available which made us feel very safe, but giving the room number is not a good idea. I did not want the taxi drivers to know in which rooms we were staying. The hotel may provide all guests with a badge or something to show to security guards, this should resolve the issue.

5. There was an electricity outage twice while we were there. It seems as an ongoing issue at the hotel.

6. I was not awarded with SPG points for the entire stay because the booking was done through Emirates Holidays. I think points should be awarded, or at least part of the points as we still chose to stay at an SPG hotel and did not choose other hotels to stay at. I lost 10 nights' points because of this!

Other than that everything else was good. I do recommend everyone to stay at this hotel, and I will definitely stay there if i visit Phuket again.

Room Tip: Stay on high floors to avoid disturbance from pool area

I have to say WOW for hug swimming pool next to the beach and welcome drink which we can order from the menu, variety of activity in a day time and choices of restaurant. Very friendly staffs from the front office and restaurants that made us cancel all the plans outside and stayed in the hotel all day until we checked out.

Fabulous SPG experience. Amazing views, very nice beach, gorgeous pools, giant property. The beach is lit up at night which is fun and adds enjoyment for the younger guests who might otherwise fear the dark. The tiny crabs run and play at night and it is fun to see.
Plenty of restaurants and shops on site. Cute little village street outside the hotel and a short drive into town and other beaches. The concierge was great about arranging boating to Phi Phi and Krabi, easy and relaxing, every bit of the trip. We traveled during the rainy season. The hotel felt the rain on the guests and offered all hoteliers a free afternoon of snacks, gratis. We enjoyed the rains that came each day. At night my daughter rented movies from a large selection of DVD's at the front desk. We stayed here five days and enjoyed it all. The suites over the pool have really nice views and patios.

Room Tip: suites over pool or on beach
