It is our last day in centara grand Beach resort phuket and we have passed an amazing vacation. My kid Adam 4.5 yo found an amazing team of mini club called Carpe diem agency and they became his friends and a lot of times he requested to go with them because he was enjoying their activities so we (me and my husband) had some time to be with our little one (1.4 yo).
I have to mention the name of Seba (Sebastián) who speaks in Italian and so for my kid was much easier to communicate as he speaks also Italian.
Seba always involves my kid to all the activities and let him feels important so for him it was very funny and he enjoyed very much THANK YOU SEBA!

One of the few hotels right on the beach. Most of the hotels along the beach have the road in between. Service excellent, our room had a view to die for. Breakfast buffet was really good. Adult pool fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We'd come back, it was great.

Friendly helpful staff enables one to relax immediately and know that all is taken care off. Great way to rest and unwind. Walk from the room (with a great view) to the pool area and then straight onto the fantastic Karin Beach. Good restaurants on site and kids well catered for. Activities for the active and rest for the not so active. All sorts catered for.

Phuket was our last stop on our trip, and we were really looking forward to sitting by the pool and relaxing--which we ultimately were able to do, but not before sorting through our nightmare of a check-in.

When we arrived, we were told that our family of 4 would be given a King room because they had run out of double-double rooms. No apologies--just, "It is what it is--our T's & C's say rooms are subject to availability." We were told the room we had originally requested would be available the next day, which also did not happen. We ended up being downgraded and refunded (a small) difference. Ironically, the same thing happened to another poor family as we were checking out--but their room wasn't going to be available for another 3 days!

Once in our room, we noticed mosquitos kept getting in given the large gaps beside both the front and back doors. My daughter woke up every morning with large welts on her legs (mosquitos LOVE her) despite consistently using mosquito repellant.

The grounds of the property are nice. The pools are spacious and rarely crowded (although the chairs get snatched up fairly early), and the kids really enjoyed the slides and lazy river.

The food is so-so (except for breakfast, which was AMAZING!), but everything is extremely pricey. So we ventured into Karon one night for dinner. (Karon, btw, is nothing to write home about--very touristy, busy and dirty, and the food is expensive and not exciting at all.)

The entertainment seemed to be spotty--the kids were looking forward to being in a play (The Wizard of Oz) which was subsequently replaced with Cartoon Trivia, which then turned out to be next to nothing.

The beach was also just OK. Virtually nobody went to the beach, which might have something to do with the undertow (so we were told).

If I had to do it over again, I would stay on the eastern side of the island. If you want to visit the Phi Phi islands, most boats leave from there any ways. (If you're looking for a boat tour company, we used Simba, and they were great!) And I would absolutely NOT stay in another Centara. Worst hotel customer experience I've ever encountered. (Aside from Noon at reception--she was so lovely, helpful and cheerful. Thanks, Noon!)

Room tip: Buildings M1-M5 are further from the pools/restaurants. I've included a map to help.

What a great hotel to stop in we loved our room with own pool, the food is expensive as some say but you either pay it or walk out to Karon. The beach area still has a lot of rubbish located on the area but we spent little time around there. The hotel is made for families and they really do everything to please

It is correct that the prices for meals is higher compared to streetfood outside, however, for future guests, please do not hesitate to contact our front office team, and ask about the Baht Bonanza promotion. This promotion offers guests free spending money on food, beverages and spa treatments.
