My husband and I wanted a quick summer escape from cold US and picked this hotel for the convenience of being beach front. The price was very very salty, but we saw the pictures and felt it would be worthy it - it was not.
The positives: it is indeed seafront and they offer great beach service with umbrellas, chairs, bar service at the beach etc. The hotel is small so we never felt overcrowded. The rooms were spacious.
What did not meet our expectations: nothing was spectacular to justify the price. Our room had a nice but not working bathtub. The breakfast was extremely average, with limited variety, The pool was super small.
I know, none of my negatives may seem bad for you, but for the cost, we expected a better experience overall.

It is a small hotel, about 15-20 rooms, very quiet (no children allowed), good for getting some really good rest for anyone who lives a usually hectic life. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Our room was BIG, a king-size bed, A/C that we didn't use (the climate there is more pleasant on its own), fine bed & bath clothes, plenty of pillows, a large balcony facing the sea, cable TV (however most movie channels were blocked - but... who needs them there?), a reasonably supplied fridge & snacks, everything spotlessly clean and in good shape. Bathroom is large, everything working okay, plenty of hot water round the clock, but the Jacuzzi was out, sealed with some sort of a wooden stage, which midgets could use to tap dance.

They said they have four (free) WiFi networks, that I should choose the one with the strongest signal. In the room, I had signal from only one, and quite weak. This was good, so we wouldn't be bothered by the urge of replying to e-mails (though cell phone coverage by Vivo there is excellent).

Parking within the hotel is limited to eight spaces (and they advise about it all the time). Easy parking on the street in front, but we were there off-season. In high season, it might be a little difficult, I guess.

Anyway, there isn't much use for a car there. Unlike non-beachfront hotels, all you have to do is go down four steps, and you are on Juquehy beach. Fine sand, and very clean. The water is also uniquely clean, though not transparent, because of the often strong - though not high - waves, The water there is extremely safe, because you can walk a long way on the bottom, and it doesn't get deep.

I've been to many beaches where each wave brings a lot of "unpleasant junk", either from the sea itself, or from humans. Juquehy beach is the opposite. If you drop a cigarette butt (which floats) on the shallow water, you'll see the backdraft take it away, and it will cross one, two, three waves towards the deep sea. Maybe it will return to land on those junk-drawing beaches, but not on Juquehy.

People can walk, or ride bicycles, on the 2-mile stretch of sand.

The hotel has a restaurant that we didn't use, but other guests said it was good. There are many and quite varied restaurants within reasonable walking distance from the hotel.

The hotel swimming pool is really small, its size being more adequate for religious rituals (baptism, mikvah) than for swimming. Yet the beach is so inviting that I wonder if anyone would care to use it.

An excellent choice, no doubt about it.

The hotel has an excellent service, good rooms, incredible location, but as most hotels of same level/nature in the region is very expensive. The hotel has areas which are very interesting (a solarium, two terraces with a great view, a nice restaurant), but even so it has many things to improve. The restaurant has an excellent service and food + drinks are ok, but not great. Daily rates + food rates are the same as in S. Paulo, or even at 4-star or 3-star hotels around the world (Lisbon, Paris, etc.), thus very expensive for the purpose and hotel standard. It has not an ecological program in place, but according to what I was told they are about to bring it to life. A pleasant place, with very good service, but charging more than it should cost.

Room Tip: Not on the first floor. I was in room 21 and I heard every time the reception phone rang and any lou...

My husband and I chose this place to get married. The location is beautiful, right next to the beach in a small calm village. The staff are super friendly and the food is great. There are more hotels, restaurant and shops around so there are things to do if you do not want to stay in just one place the whole time.

If you are a bit jet lagged from a long trip and wake up early. Go to the top floor patio and get a wonderful view of the amazing sunrise!

Room Tip: Get a room towards the ocean.

We stayed at Juquehy La Plage during the week, which was very nice, calm and quiet.
As written before the hotel does not accept children under the age of 10 (or was it 12?) which was also very nice when you are looking for some days to relax. There are several other nice hotels around nearby which are family style hotels.

We had a beachfront room, with a wonderful view and a nice beachfront balcony. The service at the bar was great. We never really used the restaurant but there are other options nearby.

We also liked the location a lot, Juquehy La plage is located right in the middle of the aproximately 3 km long Juquehy Beach, so it is a nice morning walk in one direction, another nice walk in the evening to explore the other side.

One thing: The picture of the pool at the hotel's homepage is taken very well. It is a nice pool but we were actually surprised by the actual pool size which is much small than it appears in the picture.

Lovely stay for some days, look out for special price offers if you can, it is well worth it!
