Before going to Kata Beach I’d read a lot of mixed reviews but decided I would try it for myself. I have to say I was 100% satisfied with this beach. It’s a sand beach with very few rocks so don’t panic thinking it’s rocky because it isn’t - you don’t need water shoes. The beach is big and yes it does get busy but it wasn’t until about 3pm that it got busier but I don’t mind a busy beach. We paid to go on the banana boat which was 1,500 baht (got it down from 2,000 baht - you have to barter haha) and that was very fun. There’s also other activities like jet skis, massage beds on the beach and a surf machine but I am unsure of prices. Some reviews state you need to pay 200 baht to access the beach but we didn’t have to pay so I’m not sure how true that is; there’s no one around to collect money and no stands or anything. Many food places and restaurants around to eat, plus bars, some pricier than others but you’ve just got to look around to see what suits your budget. Also, there are many tuk tuk’s that you can take to various other places - again you can barter the price down a bit and make sure you get one with Bluetooth or an aux so that you can blast out your own music! All round gorgeous beach with plenty to do for everyone
