Stayed with my fiance. The rooms are carpeted but basic. No tv or other paraphernalia. Beds were cozy with electric blanket. Its the location and the service which makes the difference. The staff is professional and most of them are qualified mountaineering instructors. They do everything from cooking to cleaning and leading the treks from this place. Its was an altogether different experience for us as if staying in a hostel with lots of limitations yet it was wonderful and educative. Heard lots of stories about mountaineering in the region. About famous writers and renowned mountaineers staying at this place. Food was too good, Narendra was specially helpful by providing snow boots from the store and guiding us to our snow trek to Gorson bugyal. The hot tea served at Gorson with aloo paranthas was the icing on the cake !More
