Last year I stayed there for 7 night...believe me it is the experience you've got to have.... Its dot on the beach... Felt like it was a private beach for us..Hotel is excellent...great staff and good food. Spa is excellent and superb service. Best part was there when we used to have dinner, there would be life performances. There were only two or three couple in resort at that time and it was a experience I can't forget...Boy what a trip and stay!! 100% Recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a booking at the end, first floor with balcony...excellent view of sea..You'll fall in love with location...

Royal Orchid, Goa is where we chose to stay for our babymoon trip to Goa in November 2012.
Junya, who handled my queries and guided me through the reservation process was ever ready to answer any query and I got all the information I asked for and guidance through the entire booking process.
Pick up from the airport was a bit late but they called me to confirm my arrival which I feel was a good gesture.
Welcome was warm and nice at the hotel. All staff were professional and always ready to help, right from the security to the housekeeping staff.
Check in was smooth.
Food at the restaurants were the best part of the stay. The staff there were courteous, restaurant clean and food amazingly tasty. Boat Quay Grill, the sea side restaurant was an awesome experience.
Room is spacious enough with just the required furnishing.
Location of the resort is awesome - bang on the beach. Utorda beach is a very less known beach and hence not crowded at all and very clean. Yet there are people who conduct adventure activities on the beach (exercise bargaining before you strike a deal with them).
Swimming pool is nice especially with the sunken bar.
Pedro uncle has his shop right outside the resort who has bikes for rent and can arrange a car upon demand.

A couple of negatives - Housekeeping was for ever slow. They don't turn up till at least 2 calls are made or sooner than half an hour. The rooms need to be cleaned with more attention. Couple of inclusion promised in the package were not arranged.

Over all a nice experience. Could have been better had the negatives not been there.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are at the end of line of rooms and offers privacy.

Stayed for 5D/4N
Service:
Check in/Check Out was quick
We were put up on the ground floor room but when we requested them to put up on the first floor room, the hotel staff obliged and acted promptly.Room Service was efficient.
Pick of the Amenities:
A good enough pool.Ideal for a quick dip.
Rooms:
We had booked a club room.Small but clean. However there was some moss growth on the ceiling of the sit out area.Maybe due to the heavy monsoons that must have slashed the area recently.Hope they clean it out and do a nice new paint job.
Food:
They have a very good breakfast spread. We had got it complimentary in our package.
Boat Quay Grill (their beach side open air restaurant, operational in the evenings only) serves not only good non veg food, but surprisingly very tasty veg food also.
Nearby places of interest:
The Utorda Beach,In fact, the property is right on the beach. The beach is clean and not crowded as the ones in North Goa.Theres 'Zeebop by the Sea' next to the property.
Our favourite 'Martins Corner' is just 3 kms away.
To sum it up
Good Hotel/Resort for a family vacation. In fact ,thats what the Majorda-Betalbatim stretch is known for.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms on the first floor for a better view

The overall experience of the resort has being excellent. With professional staff around you feel comfortable. This was our 5th visit in 4 yrs to the resort and will continue to visit the resort. Management needs to bit look into the housekeeping ie cleanliness of rooms. F & B depts arranges for the pick up of the utensils (ordered in room) but at times the utensils are kept outside the room (as happened in this time with us it was kept for more than 12 hrs and had to inform F & B dept) and the food stinks.

Secondly , in suites having installed 2 TVs and 2 ACs and providing only 1 remote for tv and ac is no good idea. It puts the customers into lot of inconvenience. Kindly provide 2 remotes for ac and tv and avoid cost cutting on unwarranted thing like mentioned above.

Overall rating of the hotel is excellent. Our kids too enjoy the ambiance.

Room Tip: suite rooms are more comfortable for a family of four persons.

I visited Royal Orchid with mine and my friend's family in October 2012. Location of the hotel is quite good. It is a Picturesque place on calm, quite beach. However, we had a horrifying experience in the resort. We booked two suites which we felt were quite small and nothing was found to be working properly right from Room keys to airconditoner. Very basic toiletries were provided in the room. For everything we'd to call the helpdesk. There was only one A/C remote for both the rooms. In the middle of the night if you want to adjust the temperature you have to get out of your bed and go to another room to get the remote.
The worst part was the food. Both the restaurants were very unhygienic. That is the last thing we expect from such a so called one of the best resort in Goa. There were ants and mosquitoes all around the table. Several times we had to change the dish and water as they had mosquitoes in it. Everyone in the family got stomach upset and vomited couple of times. Then there were very little options for vegetarians. During every meal we had to struggle what to order as there were very limited standard dishes. Unfortunately we chose Breakfast+dinner package and had repent for it.
The only good thing I like about that place is their staff. They were very patient, try to help us the best they can. I think the management is the culprit which did not equip the staff appropriately.
In the end we left the place sick and very unsatisfied making big hole to our pockets.
