“Beautiful”
Reviewed 22 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Maya Cala is stunning! The gardens surrounding the villa are amazing. Very spacious and 11 of us fit perfectly. We had such a great time swimming and kayaking in the lagoon. We had 5 children between the ages of 9 and 11 and it was a perfect place for them. Sally's information is up to date and very helpful and she is very accommodating. We had the best time and wished we could have stayed longer!

My wife and I stayed at Mayacala in the casita for three nights, not long enough. The villa, the gardens and the lake are stunningly beautiful. If you have the pleasure of staying here do not hesitate, book it. Sally was a pleasure to work with in all aspects. We love this place and will definitely return next year. (for a little longer) KJ

“So so amazing!!!”
Reviewed 5 November 2012 for a stay in April 2012

The place is stunning! It really shows how much work was put into it and I love the garden! I had been researching places to stay for months and keeping a word doc of links with my notes on them. I listed Maya Cala as hopeful "maybe someday". I am so grateful we choose this place after being there and seeing other limited options, this was all we could hope for. Maya Cala was a great home base as we explored the area everyday to ALL the surrounding villages and El plicar, Xcalak, Mahuhual, ect. I could go on and on about the trip it was just so amazing! The lake at the house is steps away and incredibly peaceful! Nothing to see for snorkling, but taking the kayak out was nice and collecting snail shells.

“Your own private lagoon”
Reviewed 21 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

Absolutely amazing place. Perfect for a couple or for the whole family. Had place to ourselves, was peaceful, relaxing, & beautiful. Locals are very friendly but do not speak English so brush up on Spanish before leaving. Good highway, can get to many locations from here but can be a drive. Recommend flying into Mexico instead of Belize (car rentals nation specific, can be an ordeal to cross border). All road blocks had friendly policia but also not much English. Make your recreation plans prior to arriving, hard to reach while here & if reserved the gates to places will be open (zipline, sailing, paddleboard, kayak, etc.) Don't be suprised if you find yourself not leaving much, no need except to shop, plenty of space to kick back relax or play. Bicycles & Kayaks available & lake is clear, smooth like glass. We will be back! Thanks Sally, Olga, Jorge, & wife hope to see you all soon!
