An amazing location but very remote so there has to be something special to draw people there.

A simply converted old building just off the beach provides limited seating but is very welcoming when you’ve walked 7 miles or so from Inverie.

It’s a very welcoming atmosphere from start to finish.

Everything we ate was top class, particularly bearing in mind limited kitchen facilities.

While staying in Inverie on the isolated peninsula of Knoydart, two of us decided to make the 6.5 mile hike to the Road's End at Airor. Some of the locals had recommended it to us. The Cafe is cheerful on the outside, in a refurbished old farm building painted white and red. Inside it is cosy with two large tables for all the diners. We shared our table with a friendly group of backpackers. There was a fabulous view across the Sound to the Isle of Skye. We had light lunches - my poached egg with avocado on sourdough was delicious and beautifully presented. The owner has free-range chickens, which roam the beach and the countryside around the cafe. It must be their flavoursome and super-fresh eggs that made the poached egg and cakes so great. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate were all very good and it was quite inexpensive. When you realise that the place has no mains gas or electric, the quality is even more impressive! My son had suffered an ankle injury en route; Veronica and her assistant helped us find a camping place nearby and get a lift back to Inverie the next day: faultless service. I look forward to returning one day.

Staying nearby at the excellent Camusblathan holiday cottage, the Road's End Café is just a few minutes stroll away. We ate at the Café no less than five times during our two week stay. The surroundings are stunning but what really makes the place special is the warm welcome received by the proprietor, Veronika - this along with the top notch home made food! The Café is very intimate with a feeling of being in a good friend's home. Locals and holiday goers alike are extremely friendly and on every visit to the Café we happened get chatting to people we'd not met before. My husband proclaims the carrot cake to be the best cake he's ever eaten.
Highly recommended! Thank you for looking after us Veronika, we shall miss you and your lovely grub.

What a unique restaurant in fantastic location.
It is like entering someone's private homely front parlour.
The menu is whatever Veronica is cooking that day- there is a choice as well.
Good food, great service in a unique setting and very very reasonable prices. It is best to bring your own wine.
One for the memory bank. Thank you Veronica.
