This charming not so small folk park is a little different as it has a real personal/community touch to it. The exhibition is put together thoughtfully and tells an interesting story of the wider area and rural life in Ireland in days gone by. Well worth a visit especially during their June Bank Holiday Vintage Day, which is an annual event

Visited here on Friday. Man at reception was very helpful and friendly. He couldn't have been nicer. The park itself was great to spend an hour or so wandering around exploring although I do think it could have been more looked after. The old street and houses were great and we all had a good time here. The only thing was the cafe. We just seemed to be there at the wrong time. A mix up with our order ( some of us were finished eating before more had even got there food.. There was only five of us so this shouldn't have been a problem) but the very friendly waitress and chef were straight over with an apology for the mix up and all were happy again. This was a great place to visit and the really helpful and friendly staff made our visit well worthwhile.

I visited this Irish museum and spent a couple of hours looking through the exhibits. The general manager was very welcoming to me and my two friends in my group. He was quite knowledgeable about the history and invited us to look around at our leisure. We enjoyed his prebriefing and the lovely, authentic exhibits. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Sligo

There were no interactive features here and there was no map to show you where to go.
It only took 15 minutes to walk around it.
The entrance looks quite grand but as soon as we parked and looked around, we knew it wasn't going to be up to much.
I think it needs a map, a questionnaire for kids, and maybe arrows to show the way around.

A planned trip, having driven past the sign for a few years, we decided to call in.
Family ticket price very good and also friendly staff to show us around the main areas. We were on our own when we arrived and had the place to ourselves. I would have liked to see some more order to the place,or even a suggested route to follow. There are a lot of interesting things here but they are not brought to life as i think they could be. The Cafe was the most exciting part of the visit and that tells you something. Improvements are needed if this place is to remain open.
