We stayed here for a week late June and very happy that we did so. It's a good option for scopello - right by the main square and handy for the restaurants and an easy 20 minute walk down to the tonnara which is a spectacular spot for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling. The hotel has its own lovely pool too for days when walking down to the coast is too much. Breakfast is the regular buffet of cakes and pastries and bread and ham. I'd recommend hiring by a car to explore beautiful nearby coves and beaches as well as a treck through the Zingaro. This is a lovely place in Sicily and it would be a shame to miss out on hidden gems.

Room was clean, but had little charm. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was pretty good and actually larger than at other hotels we stayed in in Sicily. Parking was a little tight, but it was the busy season. Great location. Wifi was good.

We stayed at the hotel for one night. The hotel was almost empty. First it took ages to get to the place, the gps address had been changed and the hotel had not informed the guests. Then we found a door closed. We had to phone and were asked to go to the entrance of hotel Baglio di Zingaro. Why were we not told in advance?? Then the only way to get to the room was to take stairs. Very convenient when you have two big suitcases and nobody to help... We had free wi if except that we could not get it from the room, we had to go in the hall or the lobby. The room was clean, but so old fashioned. Shower was rudimentary. TV channels: nothing in French, English, etc. But the worst was to come: we could hear everything from the neighbours rooms, conversations, toilets, etc. I was woken up at 3 am because the neighbour decided to take a shower. This is not new, it was reported several times already, so I was upset when the receptionist said that it was surprising! I hardly slept that night. Why did they cluster all guests in the same part of the hotel? And breakfast was sub optimal, with undrinkable reboiled cold coffee (we finally got expresses from the bar), juice more like water,... I do not recommend at all. And this was the most expensive hotel from our week in Sicily.

When the much touted hotel across the street lost our reservation, we were unsure of what to do since we had never experienced that before. But the Hotel Baglio gladly took us in and gave us a beautiful room with a balcony and a sea view for a very reasonable price. They even have a free parking lot for your car in a village that is closed to traffic. The staff is efficient, warm, friendly and English speaking. They were so accommodating that they lent us the tea kettle from the bar for our room. They have a pool, but it did not look that appealing.
Breakfast was served in a pleasant dining room with a nice array of pastries, cereal, breads, yogurt, fruits, and not so special coffees upon request. An international crowd seemed sleepy, but happy to partake.
You can walk anywhere in the village from the hotel and there are some delicious restaurants to try.
Scopello is a very convenient location to stay when exploring the charming hilltop town of Erice and the coastal town of Trapani. There is also a nature preserve and a charming beach on a bay nearby. When you have to leave Sicily to return home, the airport in Palermo is about 45 minutes away on very modern highways.

Room Tip: Request a room with a sea view and a balcony.
