If you are looking for a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life then this is the place to stay.
Beautiful accommodation in a traditional unspoilt setting that has been finished to a high specification.
Local amenities include a taverna.
English Owners are very friendly and can speak Greek and can provide you with all the information on what to do in the area and how to get out and about.
A car is essential as the accommodation is in the hills but a short drive away from the attractions if you want to get out and about and explore the beautiful island.
Accommodation is accessible from either of the two airports in Crete.
We look forward to visiting again soon.
These rooms are just off the Main Street in Eleftherna. We were recommended to stay here by a friend. The rooms are new and very well appointed but retain many original features. The upstairs room has an outdoor balcony with great views. We did see the downstairs room which looked equally comfortable and both rooms have use of the garden. The hosts Julie and Terry are really friendly and very accommodating. Good breakfast available including full English if you want it.Really good value and only about 1km from the Eleftherna museum. If you want an excellent room in a quiet location it would be hard to beat.
I work in a busy enviroment so when I have time off I want peace and quiet. The Arches gave me that in spades.
The villa is stunning and the views are amazing and tho you are up a mountain you can still see the see.
Julie the owner is a really friendly person whose aim is to see you have the holiday you want.
The village is traditional in every way it's like stepping back in time I loved it and will be going back any chance i get.
We, my husband and I, were lucky enough to choose The Arches for a week long stay in June 2017 last. We stayed in the ground floor studio room which was beautifully constructed in the traditional Cretan fashion. It was cool, comfortable and peaceful and exactly what we wanted after tripping about the island.
Julie, the owner, is so friendly and gave us lots of tips on where to visit and how to get there as well as local information and where the best tavernas were to eat and drink.
Eleftherna is a small traditional village nestled against the mountains and very central and easy to find. It is steeped in culture and near the historic digs. From there we travelled and visited the beach's and other villages and historic sites.
We are going back in September/October for a longer stay and feel like we are going to our second home as Julie was so accommodating, friendly and easy going.
I recently had a wonderful stay at the Arches in Eleftherna. It is the perfect place for a relaxing tranquil break, The building has been beautifully and lovingly restored, managing to retain traditional character with all mod cons. My hosts were friendly and informative but also gave me my own space for peace and quiet. The village of Eleftherna is typically Cretan, set in a fantastic location with great views. The village also overlooks world famed archaeological sites, which are fascinating in themselves. Thank you both!
