We stayed at the Lemuria for one week, in one of the 8 Beach Villas (the hotel has 60+ suites, 8 villas and an enormous Presidential Villa). Each villa has a Villa Master, which in our case was the excellent Lutfi, who is under the supervision of Alex, a member of staff dedicated solely to the villas. The presence of a dedicated person for each villa ensures a level of service which is simply superb. This included attending to our every wish, frequently guessing our wishes even before we could formulated them, and providing several small surprises like a picnic for our wedding anniversary in a great spot at sunset, preparing us a bath when coming back from an excursion, etc.

The resort itself has plenty of facilities, from the golf course (which we didn't use), to the spa(free steam bath and sauna for residents, which we used almost every day), to a reasonably equipped gym. Travel agents have a local rep all the time, so you can arrange a car hire or an excursion at any time. Families with kids can leave in good hands at the Turtle Club, which can keep them entertained for hours on end while their parents can take a well deserved rest.

There are 3 different restaurants within the resort, of which Legends offered an evening buffet which is as varied as it is superb. We recommend buying the half board option.

Regarding our villa, is comprised several different sections: the master bed with annexed bathroom (shower suite and separate bathtub); external enclosed lounge; separate 2nd bedroom with bathroom; swimming pool (most deep 1.3m); loungers area around pool. Access to the beach is private. The beach, Grande Anse Kerlang, is beautiful but unswimmable because of the reef and waves. We barely saw anyone there at all.

The hotel has access to 2 more beaches: Petite Anse Kerlang, which is a 5' walk from the villas, and Anse Georgette, which is accessible to villa residents via a 10' buggy drive (or a long walk for anyone else) and is absolutely stunning.

The most amazing thing about the resort is that during the day you barely see any people on the 3 beaches or around the resort. You only see the other residents at night, because most if not all dine at the 3 restaurants, given the isolated position of the resort.

We has a fantastic stay at the Lemuria and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Beach villas provide the best experience

My new husband and I stayed here for 7-nights on our Honeymoon and were thrilled with our choice.

The hotel rooms are spacious, clean and have every convenience. The entertainment system is first class.

We found the best food was at the Seahorse restaurant, and the staff there were superb. The wine selections were vast, and it was always enjoyable choosing. One excellent service they offer is, should you not finish your bottle of wine/champagne, it will be delivered to your dinner table the following night, even if you’re in a different venue. You don’t even have to ask. I found this brilliant!

The main beach is great for snorkelling – go early morning for the best views. We swam with turtles, sting rays and an array of tropical fish. Go over to the right where the rocks are for the best find…

Anse Georgette is definitely worth a visit as it is truly stunning. Go early to miss the crowds and don’t forget your camera.

This really is a first rate hotel with excellent facilities and friendly staff.

We arrived in Praslin on the 14th May and stayed at the Constance Lemuria resort for 1 week before heading to the Constance Ephelia in Mahe for another week.
From the moment we arrived we could see the Lemuria was a first class hotel. We received a warm greeting by the hotel manager and pool villa manager Alex before being whisked off to our pool villa. After a long flight we needed a few hours rest before being taken on a tour of the resort. Alex took us around the resort in a buggy which really helped as it gave us a good idea of how to get around and all the facilities available.

Our pool villa was AMAZING! It was very secluded, peaceful and was right on the beach with it's own garden in front of the pool. There was also a shower by the pool, an outside dining table and massage area. We also had an inside lounge area and fully equipped kitchen. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a walk in wardrobe, inside and outside showers, a large bathtub and internet connection accessed on the television. Our pool villa also came with our own butler who arranged everything for us from booking and taking us to the resorts restaurants, taking us to the beach and maintaining the villa.

The resort has 3 restaurants. There is a main buffet restaurant called Legend where breakfast and dinner are served. It is in a nice location where it looks over the beach and is within the canopy of the trees. There is also a restaurant called the Seahorse by the golf course and the Beach Bar and Grill which has great views over the beach. Both of these have a la carte menus. The service and quality of the food in all 3 restaurants was excellent! One night we booked a private barbecue in front of our villa on the beach. We really enjoyed this and lots of effort was put into making sure it was perfect for us.

The facilities in the resort included a small fitness center, tennis courts, a 3 tier swimming pool, spa and a beautiful 18 hole golf course. You could also borrow bikes to get around the resort which was very useful. The resort also has 3 amazing beaches including Anse Georgette which is one of the most beautiful unspoilt beaches we have ever seen!

Praslin is a true piece of Paradise. We would recommend a trip to the Vallee de Mai nature reserve on Praslin where we saw the Coco de Mer and also the rare black parrots. Anse Lazio in Praslin which is another amazing unspoilt beach is also a must see! We also went on a private boat trip to La Digue, Coco and Curieuse island where we saw giant wild Tortoises. We were also lucky enough to swim with a turtle on Coco island!

We must highlight how excellent the service was throughout our stay at the Lemuria. Nikhil our butler and Alex the pool villa manager couldn't do enough for us and made our trip extra special. It will be a holiday we will never forget!!

This hotel is let down by an outdated policy that makes it a bit more 4 star plus rather than 5 star deluxe. My impressions were confirmed by my later stay at Four Seasons which is in a different class to this resort (although Lemuria does match it in certain ways).

First of all, please be aware that Lemuria has a very strict dress code when it comes to its busy buffet restaurant - wear shorts or 3/4 length trousers and you will be turned away! For a restaurant that is little more than a canteen type of eaterie this is a bit ridiculous and considering how hot the Seychelles is, downright absurd. Check in at Four Seasons and you can wear what you want (within reason!)

Secondly, the resort is highly geared towards French tourists and if you are English, you may find it hard to find staff who understand your instructions. The lousy level of service you might expect in Paris is unfortunately replicated in this resort. If you are expecting flawless service, please do not waste your money on this resort.

Thirdly, be aware that the best restaurants such as Sea Horse and Beach Bar and Grill are booked up well in advance. You need to book early or otherwise you will be lumbered with the Legends buffet restaurant, which is overcrowded and pretentious (although it does serve good food).

If you can stomach some infuriating staff incompetencies, led by their too casual and laid back manager, Jean Charles, then this hotel might be for you. Just be sure that there will inevitably be come staff cock ups - one member telling you one thing and then finding out another thing. No co-ordination or communication between staff leading to a ragged level of service unbefitting of a five star hotel.

Lemuria, I believe, is resting on its laurels. It boasts three magnificent beaches, Petite Anse Kerlan, Grand Kerlan and the fabulous Anse Georgette. At night, the resort is a cosy place to be and I would say beats Four Seasons for atmosphere in parts and the bar/drinks options are well thought out. However, the resort is in need of modernisation - it is still stuck in the 1980s in terms of look and feel. The management is also in need of a big shake up. The restaurant manager is an ineffectual character lacking basic social skills and failing to lead his staff effectively. The problem lies further up the chain - Jean Charles, the hotel manager is a feeble character who fails to stamp his authority leading to numerous lapses by staff and an inadequate level of overall service. It is a pity that this hotel does not have more English and American clientele as I believe the service levels would improve. At the moment, we are stuck with a very French style laissez faire attitude, which simply is not acceptable for a supposedly five star resort. Lemuria needs to improve a lot and fast.

Spent 4 days here after the Ephelia -the Lemuria is of course much smaller but more select. Very helpful staff with just the extra edge of service. We only ate at the Legends buffet which being smaller than the Ephelia had less choice but I always found lots to eat . The rooms were very similar -with a smaller shower . I accompanied my husband when he played 9 holes of golf in the buggy which you have to hire -a very challenging course -if you intend to play bring your own balls to save money buying them . The beach near us was not recommended to swim in as was quite rough. Anse Georgette is a lovely beach but it also had strong waves. Anse Lazio is another must to visit -if you hire a car. We did the day trip to La Digue on the catamaran -I am not a good traveler on the water and going out it was a bit choppy .but coming back much better .This is a must visit island -where everyone travels by bike - visit the huge enclosure of giant tortoises and see them making coconut oil . Wonderful holiday which I was going back soon .
