After reading many reviews in the lead-up to our honeymoon, we were very nervous about our stay. We tried to avoid having doubts as everyone wants different things from a holiday but this was easier said than done, especially as expectations should be high due to this being our honeymoon.
We arrived at Voyage Sorgun at approximately 1am so felt very tired and in a less than good mood due to a rough flight. As we approached reception (and 24hr English pub), there was an English couple complaining and wishing to be transferred, this was not a good start. We were then told we were in G Block which instantly worried us as we had read the worst reviews of this block. All we can suggest is to go straight to sleep and start a fresh in the morning as judging at 1 in the morning is always going to end up negative.
We had especially hoped for a bungalow as we had requested this a few weeks in advance. The room was very basic/simple and asked for a room change. However, after viewing a bungalow room that had been made available for us, we decided our room was actually a bit larger and had a bathtub (the rest were shower rooms). At the end of the day, you only sleep in the room and to us, a nice view and pretty room didn't really matter. As it was our honeymoon, we were brought up champagne, chocolates, fruit and slippers and had a specially decorated door. A table was organised at the Italian a la carte restaurant too (which was delicious!)
Most nights we ate in the 16+ restaurant, which we simply cannot fault. The waiters were brilliant and we never had an empty glass. One waiter even learnt our drink order and another created a rose out of a napkin for our table! The staff cannot do enough for you! The food was also amazing!! Generally, it was similar stuff for breakfast but dinner was always exciting to see what new stuff was there! And everything was delicious! We also ate at the Italian and Chinese a la carte (the others weren't our cup of tea!). Both were so nice with more than enough food! The courses just went on and on!!!
The grounds of the hotel are stunning and constantly being maintained. There are a lot of cats around but they do not approach you unless called over. Me being a cat lover, I loved it! They were all so friendly and 2 kittens outside G Block were particularly cute!
The pools are immaculate. We spent our first couple of days at the quiet pool (which to be honest, wasn't silent but was quieter than the main pool). We did have to be up by about 8 to get a sunbed here. We had a couple of days on the pier and these sunbeds were all gone by half 6 but we enjoyed watching the sun rise so this wasn't a problem for us. The rest of the holiday we spent by the main pool, participating in the many activities the entertainment team organised.
The entertainment staff (day and night) are faultless, we have never seen a hotel with such good entertainment. The evening shows are fantastic and we saw Michael Jackson Thriller one night which was fantastic but we were devastated as The Lion King was on the day we left!!! Other shows included a cirque de soliel type show, turkish dancers/drummers and even a party with all four seasons!!!
Another thing we have to mention is Conor, the Thomson rep. He was brilliant and tried his best to resolve any problems we had. Admittedly, he wasn't always around but his times in the hotel were posted on a board so you knew when you could see him. He was brilliant and very very helpful.
The only negatives we would say is being served at the bars is a little slow but considering the amount of guests this is understandable. Also, the photo service in the hotel is brilliant, he done a fantastic honeymoon photo shoot for us. However, when we only wished to buy 200 lira worth of photos, the guy running it suddenly wasn't as pleasant. (we only bought 13 photos and he took 200!)
Finally, this hotel is in need for a redecorate (but I hear this is happening soon) but overall, we had a fantastic honeymoon. Yes first impressions were not very good but at 1am in the morning, nothing looks great! We recommend to sleep as soon as you arrive and get up fresh in the morning and enjoy your stay!!! It is what you make it at the end of the day!

Room Tip: G Block was nice and quiet as far from the entertainment area. If you like a bath, then G Block ar...

We stayed in september 2012 as honeymoon couples in this hotel. We are pleased very much. Hotel location is very cool. Trees are everywhere. You feel yourself in a jungle. Employees are very friendly and always has smile. Especially at snack bar near main pool, bartender Mr.Mesut and Mr.Berkay. I thank them very much for their great hospitality and nice cocktails. I recommend this hotel. We highly think here for  our future vacations.

Forget 5 star - it isn't. The rooms are fine and the common parts fine but they are more 3/4 star. Having said that the food is excellent, the value in terms of drinks, food, entertainment, free ice creams and extra treats like the cake shop and pancake house were brilliant. For us one of the great things was the over 16 adult restaurant, we have a 17 year old and are past wanting to sit with other peoples young children. There was an adult pool and an adult part of the beach and pier to sunbathe on. Brilliant. The town is full of amazing Roman ruins and is 5 minutes away by taxi. There are great bars and amazing handbag shops for your Pradas and Guccis. We were there at the height of the season so you did need to get up at 7am to reserve a sunbed if you wanted a particular spot. But once you got used to that it was easy to sleepwalk to where you wanted to sit and go back to bed!
If you go with the right mind set you will have brilliant food, great value and a relaxing holiday. We are critical and have high standards but it does what it says on the tin apart from having glamourous rooms and luxury common parts. Go, relax, enjoy.

Room Tip: The bungaloes near reception for 3 people (e.g. 2 x adult 1 x child) are in a great quiet location a...

We had read mixed reviews after mixed reviews and frankly I wasnt sure what to expect from this holiday. We had paid alot of money £1380 per person (there were two of us) and I was really concerned it would be awful.

We arrived at 11pm and check in was smooth. Taken to our Bunglow room in E block and it was beautiful! The room was basic, but we loved being in the gardens and away from the hustle and bustle of the resort. No complaints there! Maid service also very good!

Next morning we explored - the main block housed the dining rooms, and upstairs housed some of the guests. The al la carte's were dotted around the complex. Towards the sea was the main pool, beach club etc. The beach was beautiful! Sparking blue seas, and it was really clean!

Our favourite pool was the quiet one, and it came complete with its own bar.

Our opinions....

Resort itself? Definately 4* - sorry Thomsons but you have added too many stars for this resort.

Food - Again 4* lovely vegetarian options, but no shellfish, and the meat that was cooked a bit fatty for my taste. Al la carte's, all good apart from the Greek, we found the sevice dreadful with waiters piling new food on top of old. (what part of "please clear this away first" did you not understand?)
Perservere with the booking system if you can - as the regular dining room food is "samey"

Entertaiment - 5*! Excellent variety and top shows!

Drinks - 5* Really strong! Cocktails, and named uk brands so watch the hangovers in the heat!

Pools - 4* Good but some of the pool furniture is falling apart.

Cats...5* for caring. Lots of healthy looking cats around which the hotel TAKES CARE OF!
If you see one with a bit of ear missing it means its been nuetered, and they are all fed! If you ask nicely at reception they give you dried food for them!

Staff. 3* The majority are really friendly and do their best to help you. There is a lovely tall blonde lady in customer relations who was especially helpful. However there is a tall guy in there who was not.(you know who you are)
Also a big BOO to the head barman in the quiet pool bar who seemed to hate his job, and the guests. (Jobs worth who will not serve any drinks before 10am on the dot...unfriendly and rude) Not enough English speaking staff to cope in the dining areas.

Shops - There is a tacky small supermarket shop in the main building that was hell bent on ripping off UK guests. Tried to charge me nearly £10 for a packet of ciggy's.

Cede - Beautiful shopping within the ruins, and home to the temple of Apollo! Go there one night you wont regret it.However picked up some beautiful bling in CEDE, at Fantazi jewellers. (Thanks for discount and ride home!)

Thomsons trips 1* - be warned - we had a really bad experience here. It was a day trip to a "textile wharehouse" waterfalls and the market. It was bloody awful! Coach load upon coachload of people were taken here, thrust inside wearing armbands, and stuck here for 90 minutes! The clothes were very overpriced and of Primark standard. Then we were at beautiful waterfalls for just 30 minutes!!!!!!!!!!! Throughout the trip they try to fleece you for money ie only 1 soft drink you pay for the rest - market was hot and horrible.

Finally what made our holiday special was the other holiday makers! Love to all of you that made it special. Sam, Jan, Katie, Naomi, Alan, Ben, Dave, Val,Laura, Ian and Sam and all the other fantastic British people there. Also thank you to a wonderful paramedic Katie who was also staying there who looked after soo many people with cut fingers, stings, rashes etc.

Will we be back? Not a chance in hell but I am glad that we went!

Room Tip: Bunglow rooms in E block were perfect.

Whilst I agree with what has been said in other reveiws, when you have spent all that money you just have to decide to enjoy what you have got otherwise it just ruins the whole holiday.

Customer relations were useless when our friends we were travelling with didn't get the sea view room they had paid for, they told them to call Thomson in England (because there wasn't rep in sight), which they did, and they were told that the room they had looking at a tree at the back of the hotel in the dark was better than a sea view at the front!!

We found booking the restaraunts easy as long as you stayed in your room and did it at 9 o'clock on the dot. The French was disgusting, who has ever put beef bourguignon together with creamy tagliatelle, yuck!! The fish restaraunt was boring, just a piece of fish and some salad for the main. The Mexican was good but both choices of mains were tastless, you expect a bit of spice in a mexican. The Chinese was the best with the most friendly waiters.

The room was only just a four star. The bathroom was so small that you had to shut the door otherwise you couldn't move in it. Also if you are short or have a bad back like me you will struggle to get in the shower/bath. They have put this big framed glass door on the bath which on top of the height of the bath makes it very hard to climb over.

Breakfast food wasn't up to much, again tastless. The lunch down by the adult pool was good and the bar staff and waiters very friendly.

The grounds are immaculate, but your heart does sink when you first enter the hotels reception, this is when you start to realise you have paid for 5 star and got a 3 to 4 star. We stayed at the Cornelia Diamond in Belek last year and that was most definately 5 star, this hotel wasn't a patch on that and I can't understand why Thomson haven't worked it out themselves. I know a star rating is given on facilities and extras, but just because they have beach towels, toiletries and a poultry mini bar and safe in your room, if the rest clearly doesn't reach standard then it's not 5 star.

The entertainment was good as long as the band wasn't on. The lady singer definately wouldn't have even made it to boot camp on the X Factor, and it was 90% foreign songs. The DJ was good though and atmosphere was rocking.

All in all we had a great time because thats what we do when we are away, but I will seriously think about not using Thomason again, and I have 3 holidays a year with them. I do so much research before booking, but you can only go by what you have been told by Thomson and this certainly won't be visited by us again there is much much better out there.

Room Tip: Book a different hotel!!
