The villa has all the amenities of a luxury resort, but with a private and collegiate atmosphere. The views from all of the outdoor spaces and the Mustard room were spectacular, and there are loads of quiet spots outside to sit down with a book. We were very happy with the room although temperature control could have been a little easier.

Breakfast was delicious - loads of fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt, eggs any-way-you-want, coffee, orange juice - and Sharon's evening meals were also exemplary. Mark and Sharon were friendly and gave us great advice on different things to do on the island, though we noticed they tended to underestimate driving times.

We walked into both Gavalochori and Vamos to eat/look around and both villages were a nice 20 stroll, but beware the access is a very uneven dirt track and we are fast walkers (also Gavalochori is down a steep hill!).

Overall we had a fantastic stay, the views and facilities were top notch, and we appreciated Mark and Sharon's chatty advice and excellent cooking. We thought Hotel Villa Kerasi presented very good value for our stay.

Room tip: Mustard room has incredible views

My wife and I have just returned from our second visit to Hotel Villa Kerasi and it was just as great as the last time we visited just over a year ago. Mark and Sharon have just added an outside kitchen and further patio area and the place is absolutely spectacular - the views from their place are really hard to beat. HVK is run with a really relaxed atmosphere and Mark and Sharon are the perfect hosts with lots of recommendations about what to see and do and the best local eateries. We really dropped on the week we were there, teaming up with another great couple to sample a 'Pizza night' on one evening and then an afternoon cookery lesson, where we cooked up a mean beef stifado which we enjoyed on the wonderful patio later that evening. A proper relaxing break and we will definitely be back next year - congratulations to Mark and Sharon who are wonderful hosts and have built HVK into a top notch holiday experience.

We had a great stay at Villa Kerasi. The views from the villa are beautiful, the bedrooms and communal areas luxurious, the facilities together with fab breakfasts and meals onsite made for one of our favourite European holidays to date. Can't thank Mark and Sharon enough, perfect hosts who went out of their way to be helpful! Make sure you try all their restaurant recommendations, all we're amazing. The layout of the villa means quite a bit of guest interaction but this added to the enjoyment and felt like you were holidaying with friend. Easy for day trips, highly recommend Loutro for the day. We hope to return one day, thanks again Mark and Sharon, from Vonda and Stefan xo

We booked the whole house for our family holiday in August and it was everything we expected and more. A delightfully luxurious property, in a sublime setting with great hosts on a beautiful island !!

This property really does offer the perfect blend of tranquility and relaxation with easy access to so many places of interest in this part of Crete.

Sitting in the landscaped gardens with a coffee and Greek yogurt and honey in the morning planning a day of discovery, and then reflecting on the day on the terrace in the evening with a glass of local wine as the sun set in a spectacular splash of red probably sums it all up !

Always split between cooking fresh local produce in the Villa or heading to one of the family tavernas in the surrounding villages, and a day out or a lazy day by the pool ... these are the sort of holiday dilemmas Villa Kerasi presents !

Villa Kerasi and it's amazing location hit all the right notes for a wonderful family holiday and I would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a little bit of luxury and a lot of relaxation !

There are some wonderful highlights to report from our stay here: the villa is fantastic with amazing views looking down towards the sea. The garden, pool area, communal areas inside and bedroom are all beautifully appointed and arranged to a very high standard. It is very good value indeed.

The owners Mark and Sharon have put in so much time and effort to make the villa a fantastic place to stay and this is evident in the personal welcome and help/advice they gave us throughout our stay. Breakfasts were delicious and we were grateful for some excellent restaurant tips too. The honesty bar is very good value and a really nice touch (plus there is easy access to tea/coffee etc). The villa is off the beaten track (the access road is challenging but should not put you off) and this means you are in a very peaceful and relaxing environment with unrivalled views.

We were so grateful not only for our stay itself but Mark and Sharon's help in returning some lost property after we returned to the UK: they really went out of their way to come to our rescue. We would definitely recommend Villa Kerasi and the local area.
