The Old Bank Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #1 of 2 Bruff B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 3 July 2016

Had the pleasure of staying at The Old Bank, Bruff for 4 nights as a base for researching family history and exploring the West of Ireland.
I don't know whether we met Ireland's answer to a famous television personality in the hotel inspection business, as Miriam has the same passion and drive for not only her beautiful Bed and Breakfast, but for her family and country.
It was true to say that we were made to feel extremely welcome and encouraged to come and go as we pleased.
The breakfast aspect was a good start to the day and a menu gave you the option to select alternatives to the substantial 'Full Irish'.
Our room, was of a good size and was very well appointed with, a very comfortable double bed, furnished in lovely cotton sheets, bed spread and fleece.
A dressing table with hair dryer. Ample hanging space and trouser press.
The bathroom had everything you'd expect of a quality hotel, let alone a B&B.
This in addition to good quality towels (changed daily), a shower that delivered a constant source of hot water and a jacuzzi bath.
Our stay passed all to quickly and could easily say that we were sad to leave.
Would we stay again if we were in that part of the world. DEFINITELY!
Thank You Miriam for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Excellent Base to discover the West of the Emerald Isle

We so enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Old Bank in Bruff! The place is phenomenal and the fact that Miriam runs it while raising her family is amazing to me. She is very organized and has her policies all explained in her e-mails when the place is booked. E-mails go out at booking, right before arrival, and after your stay, so there is always communication and she is more than willing to help out in any way so you make the most of your stay. The accommodations are beautiful, they did a great job renovating the old bank. Our rooms were comfortable and inviting (we had 2 rooms because we had 6 people). We enjoyed our breakfasts and I loved chatting with Miriam! Bruff is a friendly town and we were happy to have found this area to explore!

Let me call this place as a 5 star Bed & Breakfast and -as I work in one of the 5* star hotel which is #1 in Dublin since the Trip Advisor exist- I know what is 5* standards.
The family (can not call them only as "staff") who owns and run the place, made me feel I am a bit part of them family, even just for a day.
The property in excellent & beautiful condition and the quality of the home made food at the breakfast it's just absolutely outstanding.

Home away from home.

Special thanks to Miriam for all the assistance!

Best Wishes
Tibor

Spacious B&B in the heart of Bruff in the Old Bank Building, Really quaint. Miriam the owner is incredible...running a B&B with 4 kids! Her husband the butcher does all the meats for her breakfasts which was yummmmy! I love the traditional Irish Breakfasts.

Room Tip: Fun place to stay.

Miriam has got to be one of the most amazing hosts I've had the pleasure of staying with! Her friendliness and knowledge of the county, really made our stay in Ireland. Miriam told us the best spots to drink/eat at and where to explore. If it wasn't for Miriam, we would have completely missed Lough Gur and the fairy rings.

Our room was gorgeous! The photos really don't do it justice! We had our own bathroom which had a jacuzzi bathtub, which was amazing after our long drive. Our bed was huge and so so comfortable! There was a TV in the room, but with all this amazing countryside we never used it.

If you want a place to stay filled with Irish hospitality, you'd be a fool not to stay with Miriam! Thank you Miriam!
