We stayed at Kapsaliana for our babymoon and it was perfect: tranquil, beautiful and delicious breakfasts and dinners. The service was really thoughtful and very professional. It was a very memorable stay.

We came at the beginning of September this year for a two-night stay after a busy week for our minimoon. We absolutely loved the hotel, with its rich history and found the service impeccable with great attention to detail. The staff spent time chatting to each and every one of their guests and made us feel like a little community. The food was organic and exquisite with different specials every evening. The atmosphere was serene and relaxed and was the perfect base from which to explore this part of Crete, or just lie by the pool! We will definitely be coming back!

We are here twice in our week in Crete. Thursday is gastronomic night with Cretan specialities and wine flight to accompany. Expensive but worth it. We also went for fish night on Monday and again food and drink superb. They even managed to cook and serve in a power cut. Highly recommend it.

Very cute, if expensive, hotel up in the mountains. Great service and food, if indeed a little isolated from Crete’s main attractions. The nearby monastery is worth a visit. I found the price didn’t quite match the experience and as the hotel was full, actually the public spaces were quite busy.

We booked late and needed a fair size room and ended up with the Olive Mill Suite which is huge - with a double bed and 2 singles (although one is hard and could not be slept on by an adult). Lovely bathroom, rain shower, robes, toiletries etc. The pool was perfect, never crowded with a pool bar service from 1pm (or honesty system for drinks/icecreams before that). The restaurant was lovely with twinkly lights under the trees and an interesting menu. I would have given 5 stars but honestly the food was good but not impressive, and the management/owners were rarely visible leaving service to a good but not overly caring team. Remembering which customers were vegetarian, spoke which languages, or arranging activities requested or solving problems raised are a necessity for a top-end hotel that Kapsaliana did not reach during our stay. Having said that, it was easily the best place we stayed on our trip and we highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Olive Mill Suite is huge, though expensive
