Came here for lunch with friends while exploring the area. Restaurant is rather simple, group style, but the food war good nonetheless. We had the famous mixed meat stew from the nearby "volcanic pots" and enjoyed it.
Service is ok, but don't expect too much.
Was just perfect for a simple quick lunch we were looking for.

We went to the restaurant. They had cozidos so we tried them. One doesn't expect a gourmet meal of stew meat, potatoes, carrots, and onions cooked in the ground for hours. We got a very large serving. We ate a lot and still had some left. The meal, the meat in particullar, had more flavor and taste than I expected. If you want to eat cozidos while in Furnas I would recommend this place.

We visited Miroma twice for our evening meal. Although out of peak season the menu choices were broad enough for all tastes. We had vegetable soup to start (€1.50!) and for mains my wife chose the "Legendary chicken" which the menu warned would take 30 minutes but which arrived within 5 minutes. On this occasion "legendary" might more correctly have been termed "slightly dry". However the accompanying salad was excellent, fresh and well presented. Guided by the waiter, I chose the grilled fresh tuna, which was superb, served with a garlic and onion sauce, and a mass of sauteed vegetables. The waiter took time to select an excellent local Azorean white wine (€12 / bottle!) which was the perfect accompaniment. (We noted with some amusement a Portuguese white wine which rejoiced in the name of "BSE". This however played no part in our menu selection.) For dessert we chose fresh pineapple, and the home-made pineapple mousse, both very good. With bottled water, and coffees to finish, the total bill for 2 came to an unbeatable €45. Indeed so good was it that we returned on the following evening for a repeat performance which was just as good! On both occasions the service was prompt, and very welcoming. Ate logo!

We ate here on 1st November ( a national family holiday in the Azores) and so the business was quiet in the early evening. The service was good but as the restaurant was only 20% full it lacked atmosphere for somewhere clearly used to catering for large groups.

The Cozido was as described and as first timers we enjoyed sampling it, however the portion size was really too large and we left half of the meal. One portion for two would be adequate. We were assured that the left over meat goes to the owners dogs and the rest goes for pig food - so ultimately the meat gets recycled!
