Miles of golden sand. Walk to Villamoura in two hours. Photo opportunities by amazing cliffs all the way.

I visited here almost 30 years ago with my girlfriend who is now my wife. This year we have our son with his girlfriend with us and the beach was as beatiful as before.

Staying at the Pine Cliffs resort and really enjoyed the beach here. Very accessible for the kids which are ages 10, 8, and 4. Low waves and good sandcastle making.

In our last day in the Algarve, before our flight at 7 PM, we got the car and drove around many different places. We started quite early, at 7 AM to get the low tide, that allows people to see the water springs in Olho D'água. It is interesting to see non-salt water coming out from the sand. The springs are on the right hand side of the beach, but do not expect massive springs, they are small ones and you need to pay attention to the ground, they can only be seen during the low tide. There are some pools in which you can sit and relax, but as it was early in the morning, it was still cold for us to do that. We walked along the beach and through the "Falesias". Albufeira is a beautiful place and there is a lot to be explored. You can spend a day at Olho D'água or Falesia beach, as there are restaurants along the coast, but you can also organize a day trip to see some beaches. Try a walk and enjoy the views from the top of the cliffs. In April it was cold in the morning, but the temperature rose by midday. We decided to wear trainners as we were doing some walks on the top of the cliffs, but we had flip flops and beach wear in the backpack, so we could also enjoy the beaches. You only need a couple of hours in each beach and it took us only 20 minute to drive between them. As I am from Rio and I had traveled to many places with astonishing coast in Brazil, a beach needs to be outstanding to blow me up, do not get me wrong, the ones in the Algarve are beautiful, but I think the walks above the cliffs and exploring the country side is a lot more worth it. If you enjoy spending a day by the sea, though, go for it, the infrastructure to make you comfortable is there!
