Visiting Lopar from Rab, we decided to have lunch in this village, built around a bay of turquoise water. N.1 for TA ranking is Konoba Ankora, not so easy to find, being detached from the main road, 50m in an alley, still there are clear road signs. Tip: park on the beach side and climb the alley by foot. The Konoba is on the left, up on a stair, on a sort of terrace with the shade of trees and a sea view. We ordered fish of course: octopus salad as entry dish and as main course tuna steak and grilled calamari. Potatoes and crauts were included. The taste was simply delicious! I can assure you in Italy, you will never find a plate and portion of fish like that! Water and white wine of the house as beverages. Last but not least the waitress is super: SARA thanks for the service!
We will certainly come back for the giant octopus to be ordered one day before!
€23 each.

If you go to this place "Steak Ankora" is something you should deffinitly avoid... Steak was cut in half from its regular size and grilled in two halfs.. Zero seasoning and well done allthough I ordered medium rare... Fish is ok but stay away form meat....

Here there is always a great selection of fresh wild fish as the owner is a proper fisherman (many of the other restaurants serve fish that came from fish breeding grounds not wild fish which was catch by fishermans). You can have it for a great price of 250-300 kuna / per kilo which is very good for the wild fish.

Preparation of the fish was very typical but good, and local grapas were very good. Maybe they lack a bit of variety of menu or they can offer maybe different types of preparations (like cooked fish, or from the salt), but for the prcie overall experience was great!

I will say just one thing, I was pushing my partner really hard to come here for a dinner and after we got food and tasted it, it was just total disappointment. Food without any taste, fresh fish with such big quantity of oil, that it was hard to eat, potatoes without taste, salad also without any taste. Just felt really sad, that we came there and spent more than 50 euros.
