Recommended by a local, when we wanted the best local greek cooking. We got the catch of the day, grilled the greek way. Delishes. They know how to get the good natural flavour. A charming family runned taverna. Simple. They have table out in an open square, very quiet. But the famous greek cats were numerous. We counted eight around our table! However, not a problem.
This is a lovely spot for lunch, pretty flowers and plants and good to get into the shade. The Greek salad and beer were fine. Artichokes were disappointing and perhaps baked yesterday. The waiter is not everyone's cup of tea, but we found him attentive and eager to please.
We ate here for a lazy lunch and chose from the set menus on the board. Sitting in the shade we were served freshly cooked seafood, freshly prepared salad, some ouzo all in a relaxed and friendly way.
Plenty if other were enjoying the same afternoon as us - these were Greek families as Anitas is just a short walk back from the harbour by the Hotel Hydroussa.
Recommended on quality and freshness of the food plus price and service.
The place is very simple, no frills at all. The food is good. Don't try ordering by the menu or let the waiter treat you like a clueless tourist. Go inside the kitchen for magirefta and fresh fish. They won't dissapoint you.
