Good little museum telling an interesting history of local people who lived in the caves which are walking distance from the museum. Well worth a visit especially as a good food and tapas can be had at the next door restaurant El Alpendre

The centre was closed but a short drive up the track took us to La Fortaleza where we explored this site all on our own. It's great that so many tourist just sit on the beach or even by the pool in an All Inclusive...because this beatiful location is all the better for the lack of mass tourisim. We lunched in the large cave taking in the views.

Understanding just how people managed to live in caves in the mountains is made easier by visiting this excellent new centre. Do make the time to watch the film ( commentary available in several languages including english). You can then drive or walk a couple of kilometers to the actual rock and climb up and through the actual cave. Therecis also a very good small cafe next to the centre.
